I have a confession to make: I've never managed to catch an episode of 24. Ever. And yes, I have tried.

I'm determined to tune in tonight because the description of the opening scene has really hooked me, Limbaugh's been raving about how good it is, and because that SF paper dissed it.

Since I'm a complete newbie, am I gonna be confused as heck, or is knowing that Jack's a good guy enough to keep me from being totally confused? :)

In general, the show is not too confusing as long as you watch from the beginning of the season. Of course, those watching from the beginning of the series may pick up on a little more.

You're in for a treat.

Watching, posting and making witty comments can be a challenge. Especially when the thread does about 50 posts per minute.

Given the change in administration and his views on terrorism/torture, Jack should be glad he is not really serving under Obama.

Pity the poor souls who will have to.

I can understand where you're coming from. I became a newbie towards the end of season four and was hooked immediately. In order to catch up I purchased the first four seasons and never left my basement for three months. (just kidding)

You will be confused at first but will get caught up in the action from the start. There is so much history in this series that if you like action, suspense and a real sense of good guy vs. bad guy then you will become hooked immediately and tempted to purchase all the prior seasons. If you do, I'll give you a real good deal on the first four seasons. Just drop me a freepmail.........

BTW, you'll soon find out why Superman wears Jack Bauer pajamas.........LOL!

Don't feel bad...I never watched along with a current "day" of 24 until Day 6...and that was after hearing mainly Rush (and also Laura Ingraham) rave about it...a lot of it didn't make sense to me, so I started watching in reverse order...Day 5, 4, 3, 2, and then 1 (which I had bought for $20 during day 5, but never could get into it...)

Obviously you won't be able to catch up with all six days (plus the movie) before Day 7 starts tonight, but if you want to just scan through the previous "days", wou can go to www.fox.com/24, and they have season recaps.
