Rock Can't Joke About Obama
http://www.imdb.com ^

Posted on 01/20/2009 6:06:19 AM PST by LottieDah

Chris Rock has branded Barack Obama a stand-up comedian's worst nightmare - because the President-elect is too awe-inspiring to make fun of.

Rock lampoons various public figures in his new comedy DVD special Kill the Messenger - including former White House contender John McCain and his vice-presidential running mate Sarah Palin.

But the comic insists he struggled to write jokes about the successful and charismatic Democrat Obama.

He explains, "He's just one of those guys, you know, like Will Smith. There's no Will Smith jokes. There's no Brad Pitt jokes. You know, what are you going to say? 'You used to have sex with Jennifer Aniston. Now you have sex with Angelina Jolie. You're such a loser.' What do you say? 'Ooh, your movies are big. You make $20 million.' There's nothing to say about Brad Pitt.

"(With Obama) it's like, 'Ooh, you're young and virile and you've got a beautiful wife and kids. You're the first African-American president.' You know, what do you say?" And Rock, who supported Obama in his campaign for the presidency, is disappointed he won't be able to witness the 44th president as he is sworn into office: "I have to go to Sundance (Film Festival). I've got a movie premiering at Sundance. So I have to go to the whitest place in America - Utah."

Have some more Kool-Aid, Chris. It’s doing a great job of keeping your brain from functioning.

What has he done to inspire any awe?

Coward. Pure and simple.

Real comics are not awe inspired by anything to the point where they cant lampoon it.

Not even God and Christ.

There’s that, and the legions of ‘enforcers’ the new President does not even need to dispatch to enforce compliance with perfect and unalloyed respect and even veneration on all points.

Chris Rock needs to get out more.

Oh Chris c’mon, the guy’s Mother-in-Law is moving in and she’s in charge of keeping him emasculated. What about conflicts between National Security emergencies and “Date Night”?

Hey Chris, did you know Ben & Jerry's has a new Obama inspired ice cream? It's called Baracky Road, half vanilla, half chocolate, surrounded by fruits and nuts.

See how easy that was?

BO ... the perfect blend of ignorance and arrogance ... a stilted speech pattern when he is reading and a blizzard of "uhs" when speaking extemporaneously.

If Rock had any comedic talent (and I've never observed any from him) HE could find plenty of awesome fodder for comedy routines.

Not to mention that he doesn’t want to relinquish his Blackberry. Seriously Chris, you have done more with less material. Get over the skin colour - he is just a man and a rather unremarkable one at that.
