Word For The Day, Thursday, January 22, 2009 - pandiculation
dictionaries ad nauseum, internet | 22 Janiary 2009 | secret garden

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

pandiculation \pan-dik-yuh-LEY-shuhn\, noun
An instinctive stretching, as on awakening or while yawning

Example sentence:
"Pandiculate for Health! Grow Tall! Get Well! Be Young!" Exuberant ads like this, running in health-fad magazines since 1914, have proclaimed the virtues of a spine-stretching device called the "Pandiculator."
-- Time, 1942-04-12

Etymology:
By 1611, from French pandiculation from Latin pandiculari "to stretch oneself" and French suffix -ion.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I think you need to do it more slowly and only stretch until you feel a slight pull. No one really wants to feel the burn. A for you.
Do you have Siamese cats? I like them because their personalities are not the typical kitty types.

Asleep at my desk, as usual, so I’ll pandiculate.

A for you. And remember the 20-20-20 rule so you don’t hurt your eyes. Gaze 20 ft. away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.

Yes, right now we have three.
I have had siamese cats all my life, and I prefer having at least one.
I love the chatter I get from them, I hear how their day went, “feed me now”, etc. You can have conversations with them, and they’ll answer you back. At least mine do. I guess that’s because I have always talked to them like they understand every word I say.
We also have some rescues, and they are picking up the actions of the siamese, along with some of the chatter. I guess that’s because they live with siamese.
It’s really quite wonderful to have a house full.
And the best part, we never come home to an “empty” house.

They are pretty vocal. People who don’t like regular cats sometimes like the Siamese because they are so interactive and refuse to be ignored. I was telling my son that they are not as aloof as some kitties when he asked what was different about them. It’s hard to explain.

It sure is!
Similar to having a very talkative, active child.
Which is what they really are :)

One of my buddies posted a Breitbart link of it on his posting wall on Facebook. I was going to post a link to Iowahawk’s page, but my buddy beat me to it.
