Holy Crap! Neat pictures!
Don’t forget WWI and WWII rifles that use stripper clips.
I learned on here that there were very few revolvers where when fired, the cylinder would move forward against the entrance to the barrel, thus making a complete closed barrel. They would also have an integrated suppressor, so as to muffle the sound of the shot.
Oh man, you haven’t seen Sahara? Definitely do so
Looks like a very interesting site. I will enjoy it.
you’ve all missed my pet peeve...in ‘50’s westerns, the people in the wagon trains(circa 1830-1860) are ALL armed with 1873 Colts and 1892 Winchesters...not a Hawkin rifle or a pepperbox in the bunch....and they’re supposed to be on the Oregon Trail,...passing by all those cactus.
When in doubt, it’s always safe to assume that the TV has it wrong.
The OSS did have a number of Colt Commando’s, which is a fairly rare gun. It was a parkerized version of the Official Police (old Army Special) in .38 Special. In 30 some years of gun collecting, I’ve only seen one.
Most of the WWII revolvers are re-issued 1917 Colts or Smiths, or Smith Victory’s.
Don’t know who wrote that but they obviously don’t know anything about unknown distance shooting. You adjust the elevation and windage on the scope for shots at different ranges so... yes, you do put the crosshairs on the target, not above... though you can do that as well, it’s call “hold over”.

I'm thinking that similar can be said about most bullets fired in fear. Calm, methodical, practiced, and quick are the keys to hitting the target. Which is easier said than done when the perp is 20 feet away and charging.
I can't quite remember if that contraption that loads 8 rounds into the Garand is a clip or a magazine. I'd lean towards the clip, but I could be wrong.
But the jamoke who wrote this IS a Hollywierd writer and therefor a dumbshit.
Jennifer Lopez made a Bolt action rifle fire in semiauto in the movie Anaconda.
You would think a cop would know their calibers; but on a show hosted by John Bunnell called “Wildest Police Videos”, a cop referred to a 1911 pistol as a “45 mm”.
It’s a clip.
LOL... Jamoke? I haven’t heard that one in a while... Nice!!! Hollyweird is pretty much clueless as you say. LOL.
