Just Sent This To Senator Hatch
01.26.09 | Big Truck

Posted on 01/26/2009 6:37:36 PM PST by big truck

"People make mistakes and commit oversights," said Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. "Even the most intelligent and gifted — two adjectives that certainly apply to Mr. Geithner — make errors in their financial dealings."

Are you kidding me??? "Errors in their financial dealings???" An error, Senator, is forgetting to carry the two or add the six. I can err and not pick up the milk. I can forget where I put my car keys. But 4 YEARS of not filing taxes is NOT an error - It is a brazen attempt to subvert the system that you, for GOD only knows what reason, have put Mr. Geithner in charge of. What in the name of all that is right were you thinking?!

These are the ethics conservatives stand for? Really, Senator? If you do not have the courage of your convictions to oppose what is wrong, then do me a favor and stop touting your "conservative credentials" every time you open your mouth or get in front of a camera. Join the rest of the RINOs. At least I know what to expect from them.

I could not believe the Senator actually said this. Am I missing something? What is happening to the conservative wing of the party?

Nice.

Sure seems like aliens have taken over the bodies of our elected, doesn't it?

Senator Hatch...

IT'S TIME FOR A RETURN TO THE OLD SCHOOL

...and with comments like these, you appear to be standing in the way.

Paging Mr. Big Truck.....the IRS...paging Mr. Big Truck.

You have guts, but don’t you realize we little people are not allowed to address the Ruling Class in such a tone? We are to happily toil, pay taxes and keep our opinions to ourselves, or at least grumble amongst our friends, but never let the Ruling Class hear of our plight.

Geithner did make a mistake in his financial matters, that much is true. His mistake was he didn’t think he would be caught.

A lot of other people have made the same mistake.

I can’t see how this appointment is supposed to help promote voluntary compliance with IRS tax policy.

That's money. I can't believe this guy got confirmed. As others have said, Wesley Snipes is going to be serving three years in the big house because he forgot to pay his taxes.

I'm hoping against hope that this is a secret ploy by Republican leadership to hang it around the necks of Dems at the mid-terms.

Thank you for sending him a message. I sent him one some years ago when he stood with his thumb in the air and allowed klinton to turn a “clean burning coal” field into a national forest so his buddy in China would have a monopaly sending it here. Ole hatch went right along with it and instead of helping employment in his state by allowing coal to be produced, allowed clinton to turn it into a national area where the coal could not be mined. He’s a REAL GOOD republican...he licks the boots of democrats, even those who brazenly break our monetary laws....then gets to oversea them.

I don’t even know who is on our side, if any. I would love to demand an account of every one with an R behind their name, but for what purpose? I hate to admit it, but I’m beginning to lose faith in the party of Reagan.

The Dims must have something to keep the pubbies in line with. Hatch has never been tough. Like a cheap aluminum chair, folds up when you least expect it.

It’s not my plight I’m pissed about. I am content with the lot God has given me - I and my family are healthy, warm, and fed. What I am sick and tired of is those who make the laws and break the laws with no consequence. (You skip out on your tax “obligation” for 4 years and see if you get to “ammend” your filings with no penalt of jail time.)

I am a simple man who is gullible enough to take another’s word. If a person represents himself as a conservative, then he better d@mn well acquit himself as one.

I’ve just about had it. I’m not sure how much longer I can stay quiet...

Thanks for sending Sen. Hatch that very good note. You were much more polite and to the point than I could have been. Even tho I'm not from his state, I called and left word with the phone answerer that it is way past time for the Republicans who are left in Congress to stand up and grow a spine.

Dear Lord, this country and it's so called leaders have gone nuts...as for the 50 some percent of American voters who put that radical in office....how could they???? They will find themselves asking that question of themselves the next 4 years...”act in haste,....repent in leisure”. I pray our dear nation will survive....I pray we all will.

Keep that happy thought in your head. Let me know how it works for you. I may need to borrow it if this is how our side of the isle is going to play ball with 0.

I usually don’t write elected officials. I doubt he’ll even read it as I’m not form his state. But I simply cannot stay silent anymore. I’ll either be able to speak my peace or go to jail trying!
