Access to Knowledge Movement (vanity)

Posted on 01/28/2009 12:42:32 PM PST by Grumpybutt

I saw a commercial on the tv last night featuring the guy who started Wikipedia. He was talking about access to knowledge being a fundamental right and every person should have a computer with the internet or something along those lines.

According to Wikipedia, "access to knowledge should be linked to fundamental principles of justice, freedom, and economic development".

I thought public libraries gave people access to knowledge???

Funny how the "green" crowd keeps pushing computers/laptops/internet "for the children", then howl at the impact to the environment over a google search.
