I have seen a raccoon 3 times in the last two or three weeks..Not much action at all.
The cute babies like that have never come around while they are so little. I keep hoping.

I never know if it is crocus or crocuses..

Or, maybe croci? LOL. ;-)

Yes, do hire someone to trim your nandina, MEG. Nothing is worth being laid up with a bad back for weeks.

Good morning, you two! Happy Ground Hog Day! This was the day my son was supposed to be born, but he decided to wait two weeks longer before making his appearance. Longest two weeks of my entire life!

Hi Lori, walked over here a moment to check mail here and email. Gee, its fun when you get both. Makes one feel like they are ‘somebody’....LOL~

I bet your son was glad not to be born on Groundhog’s Day, although its just another day, isn’t it? Bet that was a long two weeks wait.

My youngest was due On April 10th and I had worked until early March. On March 5, some friends had given me a shower and I had the gifts piled in the dining room and that little pre-mature baby came 2 days later March 7. One month and 3 days early. He only weighed 4 lb.10 oz. when I took him home from hospital. The first boy weighed 8 lb.2 oz.....Go figure!

Well, good grief, jaycee, you ARE 'somebody' everyday! You are an important part of Amy's Place family! We are ALL special here! :-)

But, yes, I know what you mean about getting pings and email. It's what we look forward to. I especially love freepmail because that is how I keep in touch with some very special people here - some who don't post much anymore.

Yes, babies come on their own schedule, don't they? I was kind of hoping, when the days kept passing, that my 'little girl' would be born on Valentine's Day. I could picture the "pretty in pink" Valentine birthday parties and how much I would like being born on a special day like Valentine's Day. But, my little girl ended up being a rough and tumble little boy (back then, you had to wait to find out, LOL), so Valentine's Day wouldn't have worked real well for him - he was born two days after.

Happy Monday to you, Lady J!

It's supposed to get warm today, so I will going out and getting some yard work done. My entire garden has gone to rack and ruin during the winter. It does every year, but a few good garden work days and I will have it back under control again. I just don't know where to start! So, I am sitting here talking to you. LOL

“Peter writes of Him, “We have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

Peter was thinking of that day on the Mount of Transfiguration with James and John when he saw Jesus standing with the two great prophets of the Old Testament, Moses and Elijah. In that august company of true prophets the Father pointed to the Son and said: “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Luke 9:35). Jesus’ word is a “prophetic word” that is certain!

There is One who is never wrong and who will never lead us astray: our Lord Jesus. We must hear Him!

At the name of Jesus bowing, ...”

We’re relatively warm today at 50º but still have a foot of snow on the ground and can’t garden today.

Tomorrow will be 25º cooler and snow all day for another 4-7” to continue an exceptionally cold snowy winter.

Oh, my gosh! I do not envy you all that snow! Guess you won’t need to worry about gardening for a few more months. Winters are short here, but still too long for me.

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

Hi, Amy. Did you hear that our Chamber of Commerce CEO died in a skydiving accident in Hollister this weekend? Sad story. She was a great embassador for Tulare in her position with the Chamber. She will be missed here.

I am going to try to get some yard work done today, but it is still too cold outside, so I am visiting at Amy's Place for awhile. :-)
