Maybe someone here could answer this: Whats the point of wearing all camo but then a huge neon orange vest and orange hat? If the answer has something to do with animals being color blind, then why not just wear all orange and ditch the camo?
The point of camo is profit. The point of orange is so you don’t get shot.
“Whats the point of wearing all camo but then a huge neon orange vest and orange hat?”
The point of the neon orange garb is because the law says you have to wear it. Not in all states and not in all type of hunting.
It kind of makes me wonder how all the old timers who only wore dungarees and a barn jacket managed not to starve.
Blaze orange is required in most states for hunting, particularly when other hunters are present; deer and some other mammals see the blaze orange as gray. The point of camo is simply to break up the outline of your image against the background. Most of my friends and I wear two or three different camo patterns when waterfowl or turkey hunting simply because we’re too cheap to buy complete sets of the latest rage in camouflage. But the different camo have similar coloration and patterns.
What’s most important in hunting is to remain relatively motionless and undetected by your prey. All the camo in the world is of no help if you prematurely mount your shotgun or rifle when the animal is looking in your direction.
