Why won’t more conservatives get off their duffs and VOTE?

What conservatives? This is the Rostenkowski / Blagojevich / Emanuel seat, need I say more? I’d be embarrassed to live in that district.

She’ll need more than a lot of luck and a lot of money…

Anything is possible, but….

This is the vote (democratic) that has to be examined
If Quigley solidly carried the district over the 10 others breaking into even into 30% that would be one thing. But of the total, he has 40,000 voters who didn’t vote for him and 11,000 which is his base of support..What was the % of turnout ? Which precincts went below that percentage ? Those are precincts that should be worked, along with precincts which Quigley barely carried.

Isn’t this an odd time to have a primary?

It’s a special election because Rahm Emanuel vacated the seat to become Hussein Obama’s chief of staff.

The district is very heavily RAT, after all it's mostly made up of the north side of Chicago. It's considered safe Dem. However, it did go Republican once in recent years -- Republican Michael Patrick Flannigan won it for a single term in 1994 when his opponent Rostencowski was under indictment.

The thinking is with the whole Blago/Emanuel scandal dominating the headlines for months, we have an opening to win this seat again -- at least in theory.

Don’t get too excited. This is Emanuel’s old district and chances of it not staying Dem. are slim and none.

Primary will winnow field to replace Emanuel

Republican ( And FReeper Lady) Rosanna Pulido said she would have voted against the stimulus, calling it "the greatest fleecing of the American taxpayer ever in the history of the United States."

But since Democrats passed it, the district should get its share of the money to help with infrastructure work like road repairs, Pulido said.
