LET'S ALL MOVE TO CANADA

Remember when Bush was elected all the liberals threatened to move to Canada? And never did? They stayed here and now they've got exactly the President and Congress they've always wished for. And the rest of us are getting the shaft. And our children and grandchildren will be paying in every way for this folly unto the last generation.

My daughter and her husband have been asking me where they can move to to avoid the inevitable disasters that will ensue from Obama's policies, and I've been hard put to come up with a refuge that doesn't have its own drawbacks. But it just occurred to me that if enough of us who still believe in liberty and free markets and who reject phony rubbish like global climate change and endless government regulation move to Canada and become Canadian citizens, we could vote in a government up there that would be more like the United States we used to live in than the one that's shaping up now.

I believe the time is coming, and quickly, when the productive citizens of this (former) republic will be forced to recognize that the tipping point has passed - the parasitic socialists and tax-eaters have become the permanent majority in the US and will continue to vote for policies that exploit and punish the producing class. There are too many of them, and too few of us.

But if we all move to Canada, which is still in fact a sparsely-populated country for its size, we could form a new majority of productive citizens and vote in a truly conservative, free market government. At some point we might even persuade Alaska to secede from the US and join the new United Provinces of Canada. And in any case, WE'D BE ENTIRELY SELF-SUFFICIENT IN OIL.

There is one small problem with this idea...Canada doesn’t have Florida... :)

No way am I moving back to the Great White North no matter how good the beer is!

In Windsor Ont the call the GST (goods and services tax)”Go South Today”.

(Even though technically Detroit is North of Windsor).

Every Saturday the malls in Detroit are FILLED with Ontario plates. Gosh, I wonder why?

Well, come on up. I, for one, would welcome each and every one of you.

We have a conservative federal government in place and with a whole pile of freepers, it could stay that way. Please come to Ontario, though, because our province needs you most. Plus, southern Ontario is further south than a good portion of the U.S., so it’s not all that cold.

Warning - VERY politically correct and pandering to immigrants who aren’t interested in becoming Canadian. Also, high taxes (but you can change that) and too many handouts. Also, beware of socialized health care, it’s not so healthy.

Thank you Judy. The plan is that we all come up there, get Canadian citizenship, and repeal all your crazy socialist policies like state-run medical care, “hate speech” laws, pro-Muslim immigration, etc., and replace them with the sort of sound, small government, pro-Western Civilization concepts that used to predominate in the old US of A.

I honestly believe this could work.

Sorry. Free-staters tried to get people to take over the government of New Hampshire. That didn't work and there wasn't even a border to worry about.

Can we just give the cities to Canada? Or better yet, let canadian and American cities combine and merge rural America and Canada.

Thought about it, just don’t know if I could get a job up there.

Have a business card for some place in Ottawa, don’t know if they need another person.

Also guess you can’t smoke inside a business in ON.

Guess I’ll fight it out here in MI, we can still smoke in most places here.

I made the suggestion years ago that we should just have one lib country and one conservative country. Why screw up two countries with liberalism?

Then, let the contest begin. All the libs on one side of the border, all the good guys on the other side. Let’s see which system works better! Let’s see who has to keep people IN and who has to keep people OUT!

I married one. We live in Georgia now. Took her two years to thaw out; she can’t stand the thermostat being set any lower than 74*. This in contrast to where I found her, where cars had to be plugged in overnight to stay warm enough to start in the morning, and where I once had to drive two stories underground and wait an hour before the wiper fluid melted sufficiently to keep the window clean enough to drive.

No wonder those CA Dems didn’t follow thru on promises to move north.

You're nuts! I hate winters so if I'm moving anywhere, its somewhere in Central America where the weather is nice, real nice all year round and the American dollar goes a heck of a long way...........I'll send you my snow shovel.
