Boca Raton - Two cats starved to death in a schoolteacher's apartment because, between work and her social life, she just didn't have time for them, police said.
The black and brown, tiger-patterned domestic cats had names and traits, but by the time police found them Feb. 23 at a Boca Sol apartment, they were dead.
The findings: They were trapped in the home of Congress Middle School special education teacher Allison Dinsmore without enough food and water for up to a month. They died a painful death, officials said, caused by dehydration and starvation.
Police accused Dinsmore, 26, of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor, though she has not been officially charged. Police could not arrest her, Officer Sandra Boonenberg said, because "misdemeanors must occur in the officer's presence or be a 'misdemeanor exception,' which animal cruelty/neglect is not." The State Attorney's Office will decide whether to charge Dinsmore.

Please ping.
If she cannot take care of cats....I would not let her near children! Geeeees.....
Just think . . . If the teacher had left a live newborn in a trash bin following a “botched” abortion, nothing would be said. Leave a cat alone??????? Criminal. Leave a living, breathing baby alone?????? Kudus from Obamaniacs! Incredible!!!!!!! Lord have mercy on us!!!!!!
She should rot in hell, slowly, without food or water.
Sorry, but I don’t think I want to ping this one. It’s a downer, and it will be a magnet for the cruelty-lovers.
May those poor kitties find peace, and their betrayer justice.
WHy would I think about that? Apples and oranges. I think this woman deserves the death penalty myself.
Jeez-—I hope you can remove the cruelty lovers from your list!!
I do whenever I catch them. I also keep a s***list, so I can get them zotted or at least warn others that they are trolls.
Too bad Kramer didn’t live next door with his SP 2000.
“WHy would I think about that? Apples and oranges. I think this woman deserves the death penalty myself.”
Oh, I agree . . . I just think it’s sad that we’ve lost concern about our own human species while we pursue bad guys regarding animal mistreatment. Both are disgusting . . . but apples and oranges????? Life is life . . . too bad human life doesn’t trigger any where near the negative response that this kind of negative behavior does.
They probably looked 'beautiful' and 'peaceful' according to Michael Schaivo's scumbag lawyer.
Give her the same treatment for a week. Say the guards are “too busy” to feed her.
Okay. Do the same thing to her. See if she makes it a month. (Yes they are not people but they are living things that starved to death for no good reason except their sole provider got bored and could not make ANY (right) time for them.)
you can tell a lot about people how they treat their animals. that’s why I say make her survive a month in the same conditions.
Respectfully, I don’t think you can show me one example of what you are talking about. Show me ONE instance of an infant abandoned in a trash can (in the U.S.) that did not get as much coverage as this story.
I think we can deal with cat abusers while we also deal with baby abusers.
Hell, even Newman would have had enough humanity to slip the kitties a pepperoni once in a while.
Why have pets if you do not intend to care for them?
“Respectfully, I dont think you can show me one example of what you are talking about. Show me ONE instance of an infant abandoned in a trash can (in the U.S.) that did not get as much coverage as this story.”
Wow! Are you serious????? Obama believes in newborns from “botched” abortions should be allowed to die of exposure if the “mother” wants the baby dead. There was an instance in Illinois where a RN said it was done on a regular basis, and she herself held a newborn for 45 minutes while the hospital refused to let her get help. She found the baby in a medical waste bin in a storage room. There was virtually NO press coverage whatsoever of this monstrous tragedy . . . none.
But we’ll see this cat story get legs (if you’ll pardon the pun) while this RN’s story was buried. Sorry, but I think humans are much, much more important that cats. And I love cats.
Yes, humans are far more important than cats. I do have to admit, though, that I like my cats a lot more than some people.
People who end up committing the horrendous crimes against other people often start their cruelty with animals. The thrill of causing pain is like a drug, and eventually, they don’t get as much of a high from abusing animals, so they move on to people. To me, that’s enough of a reason to punish animal abusers as severely as if their abuse had been targeted at a person—while they’re locked up, their future potential victims are safe.
That is the number one thing I look for in people.....if they don't love and respect animals, they are no good.
