Two storms are destined for the West this week, the first mainly for California, parts of the Southwest and the interior Great Basin. The second will deliver precipitation from north to south but will again be especially aimed at California then the interior Great Basin. Neither of these storms are destined to be big precipitation producers for the West, but the second probably has more than the first.
The satellite picture from Monday afternoon shows that first storm swirling quite nicely west of central California.

I am ready for some warmth.
You can have some of mine, Ernest. It’s over 90 here.
I hope we get a few more inches. We can use it.
It started raining up here, a little after 10:15 am.
We had some good rain until a little after noon.
Now it has stopped, and we have afternoon sun peeking through the clouds.
Accuweather has a “Weather Alarm” for my area— .78 inches over 4 days. Batten down the hatches!

Could you Cali FReepers please send some *good* rain Texas’ way? I don’t want to have to go to another state to paddle my boats this year.
The wind started picking up quite a bit after noon, but nothing else up in the high desert. They’re still calling for rain tonight, though.
Hope so!

Hmm...his clock is different than mine.
They mention wind with the first storm ...up to 50 mph...which probably will be higher thru the pass north of Palm Springs....see #14.
Yep, started to rain today but at least the weather had the good sense to wait till I got to work to let loose. We don’t usually get much rain after Feb/early March and it’s going to be 15 degrees cooler than normal this week...global warming and all.
Bummer.
I am not happy.
You see that pileup on I-5 @ buttonwillow?
