Rick Warren's Easter Message On Fox News Channel preempted
Vanity

Posted on 04/12/2009 9:46:18 PM PDT by Retired Chemist

I came home from my part-time job and set down to watch Pastor Warren's Easter message on Fox News Channel. Half way through they cut to a news alert announcing the release of Captain Philips and never returned to the message. I tried to watch it again at midnight but Geraldo was on. Anybody know where I might watch the remainder of the message?

Doesn’t be have a website?

I can’t imagine why Fox would even want to carry it.

I was up early and saw that it was on around 6 AM. You could probably see it on YouTube or the Fox website. If not today, soon. Might try going to Rick Warren's church website.

I am both angry and disappointed that Fox aired this chameleon of a pastor who has now turned against Prop. 8 and his ministry is all about himself. It would have been far better and would have attracted tens of millions of viewers if it aired the Easter Mass from Rome or the Via Crucis at the Coliseum. Whoever sold Fox on this program needs to be fired.

That’s the way it’s been with Rick Warren for a long time now... He’s just now becoming a lot more apparent to more people (which is good, finally...)...

Right you are. I was wondering why in the devil FOX would even bother to carry this guy.

He's hardly worth the bother.

I couldn't imagine either. Fox News Channel airing a full Christian sermon by "America's Pastor". I wasn't happy to see it at all. It's a news channel! I don't say this because I have no respect for Warren, I would say this about Fox airing any service, including Charles Stanley whose sermons I love to listen to.

I would imagine that Warren has podcasts you can sign up for if you like him.

News channels shouldn’t be broadcasting any religious content. I can imagine why the OP thought that US broadcast channels even WOULD do this!!!

Who cares about Rick Warren’s “Easter” message? He’s a hireling, a fool, and a homosexual apologist. No thinking Christian would attend his church.

I hope it's becoming apparent to more people that this man is a false teacher! The only true men of God on television today that I know of are Charles Stanley and the late James D. Kennedy.

"News channels shouldn’t be broadcasting any religious content.

I don't know if religious content is bad per se. But, I don't think that religious service should be broadcast. I didn't see this show, but if it's hosted by a pastor on Easter Sunday, it's probably a religious service.

There's nothing wrong with a cable-news station hosting a dialogue or forum on religious topics or even religious controversies. But, the actual broadcast of Easter services or any religious service for that matter, should be avoided at all effort.

I do agree, and was quite surprised when I turned Fox on early this A.M., expecting to be updated with news.
