In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
cockalorum; noun
A little man with an unduly high opinion of himself. Boastful talk; braggadocio
Etymology: [Perhaps alteration (influenced by Latin -ōrum, genitive pl. ending) of obsolete Flemish kockeloeren, to crow, of imitative origin.]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

i was apprehensive about using it on a MONDAY, since it’s more like a FRIDAY word, but hey, it’s raining here and there is so much fodder on FR that could call this word into play. : )
i am into LEGIT mocking, not lame mocking. i am sorry, it just doesn’t resonate with me, but maybe it does with others!

well i hate to agree with any MORAN of any stripe, but McAuliffe is a blatant carpetbagger, so his point about donations from VA contractors versus Trump, sounds right to me. By the way, i actually saw the first McAuliffe bumpersticker last week on a car in Crystal City. A+++

i think her court date was last week, if i am not mistaken. the cops did a great job. she has been a frequent guest of their’s apparently. proved to xshub that yes, you do need background check even for low level employees.
