All this talk about the effects of waterboarding and the accompanying videos is tiring. Perhaps the stories would be more relevant if alongside the video of the waterboarding demonstration, a video of someone's decapitation with a dull, ceremonial knife was also shown.
Then the view would have a better context on which to base his conclusions about the "cruelty" of waterboarding.

I thought it was interesting because I always wanted to know how it was done. It didn't seem to very complicated. I heard stories that in Vietnam the US soldiers would waterboard vietcong with their canteens and cellophane. I don't consider this to be torture.

Actually, I think it might be GOOD to see so many folks offering themselves up for ‘waterboarding’. It will certainly diminish its reputation as ‘torture’, in the public mind, if regular folks see that there are people willing to volunteer to have it done to themselves.
