The world's oldest living dog, a dachshund called Chanel, has celebrated her 21st birthday. Owner Denice Shaugnessey said Chanel would celebrate with some cake and then a nap.

Wow! 21 is VERY old for a pooch. We have a gal that is 13 years old. 13-14 is a pretty common “old age” for a dog.

Dachshunds are awesome. I adopted my first two years ago, and Ill never be without one.
We're on our second one. She's just turning 12 in June. I doubt she'll make it to 21, though. The way her bladder is losing control, we'll be able to use her as a funnel in a few months.
