IPTV needs to be the next step for conservative media

Posted on 05/08/2009 7:41:09 PM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

Let's face it folks, we have the liberal media on the ropes. Drive by newspapers are dying. liberal broadcasts are setting record lows. Liberal cable outlets are always claiming 2nd, 3rd, etc best to Fox. So what's the next step?

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Society
KEYWORDS: alacarte; americanthinker; breitbart; broadcasts; cabletv; cnsnews; conservatism; conservatives; culturewar; dyingdinosaurs; fairnessdoctrine; fox; foxbusiness; foxnews; heritagefoundation; internet; iptv; liberalmedia; localism; memri; mrc; newmedia; newsbusters; nrachannel; paulweyrich; rupertmurdoch; talkradio; television; townhall; weyrich
I for one would love to see Heritage, or MEMRI, or the MRC/Newsbusters team, or even a combination of groups......... Rush could probably help out with this considering how much clout and how many resources he has at his disposal. ( Limbaugh, are you listening? )

With the leftists on the march with their localism doctrines and unfairness doctrines we need to stay one step ahead. This (on the surface) seems like an easy one. Especially for all of you who are so eager to get ala carte cable connectivity, of which you can count me in on. I for one am sick of subsidizing a bunch of liberal programming for the sake of getting one or two somewhat decent channels/programs.

This is a technology that has a lot to offer going forward, and someone on our side needs to take a look and take advantage before we start getting Huffpo IPTV streams and we are once again behind the curve.

Conservatives are behind the tech curve in terms of using the Internet as a communications and fundraising tool. IPTV isn’t quite the solution to that. It’s a good step, but IPTV is a few years away. There are other areas that need attention right now, mainly electronic fundraising.

I won’t claim to be a huge dedicated IPTV protractor or anything,(I haven’t followed the technology) but it does seem to be something we shouldn’t sit on our laurels about.

I don’t know about you, but I’d love to see a revival of Weyrich’s National Empowerment Television.

Unless some conservative literally buys out one of the three broadcasts(ABCNBCCBS) it is likely that they will always be liberal. I don’t just mean in the news, I mean the whole deal. The shows too.

So we will have to circumvent them. We’re doing a good job; granted; but we still need more.

Especially with localism looming. Preparation is everything. Let some conservative group put a solution out and it wouldn’t take long before I’d whip out the credit card and sign up.

That seems to be nothing more than a repackaging of what’s currently available on Cable............ over the internet.

That’s not exactly what I mean.

Thanks though.................

Actually, from quickly reading the FAQs it says there are broadcasting options. Interesting.

Though, I doubt you’d want to pay to see my ugly mug on a regular basis. LOL

What I mean is a serious contender in today’s media.

but we still need more.

Suggestions: REFUSE to do any business with any business that advertises in a liberal newspaper.

Refuse to buy a GM or Chrysler now that the UAW owns 55% of those companies.

IPTV is just TV delivered via the Internet. It’s not exactly a revolutionary new technology, especially when it comes to communications. Go to hulu.com, that’s basically what IPTV will be like.

No, it isn’t

You can sign up for a broadcast account and broadcast from your computer. It is an IPTV broadcast account which is precisely what you are advocating.

The leaders of Conservative Talk Radio - should totally take the potential sting out of an Obama/Demorat stoppage of AM Radio by wholesale establishing alternatives such as IPTV and Satellite Radio...

In short - Conservative Talk Radio should make so many Alternative Conservative Talk outlets as to make it irrelevant to attempt to quash local AM broadcast by bringing about ‘localism’ or by instituting the so called Fairness Doctrine again...

But I am not sure that the movers and shakers of Conservative Talk Radio ‘GET IT’...

Any easy preventative and solution - IF ONLY...

I’d love to see the heritage foundation get in on this. MEMRI and CNS news would be good ones too.

Heck, I’d like to see CNS news rise up to the challenge of cable newsdom.

NB already has somewhat established a visual/media arm in newsbusted.

Any plans to expand it beyond youtube?

I can’t speak for others, but I would definitely be a subscriber if a service was offered.
