any surviving Armageddon will be so overhauled as to be near nothing like their former namesakes.

The Roman Catholic church will be melded into the one world religion. It is not that religion, but its infrastructure will likely be used by the AntiChrist to propagate his evils. Those who are not apostate in the Catholic institution will be persecuted.
