ALBANY -- Nearly a quarter of the state's population is at least giving thought to leaving New York for better conditions elsewhere, a new poll has found.
The Siena College Research Institute poll released this morning shows 11 percent of New Yorkers say they are going to move unless conditions in the state improve while another 10 percent say they would like to move out "as quickly as I can." Only 16 percent flatly say they are never moving.
The poll found 52 percent believe the state is moving in the wrong direction, while only 33 percent say New York is going in the right direction. The rest don't know or have no opinion.

As a New Yorker, I have no idea why people love that city so much. I absolutely could not stand it. I don’t like the people, the city, the traffic, the corrupt political machine, and the endlessly entitled racial and cultural factions overflowing with indignation that they’re not number one on the mayor’s speed dial. Upstate NY was gorgeous, but I’m a few million away from being able to move up there.
They can move to my neighborhood in WIlmington NC. Get my property values back up and then I can move to SC where taxes are low.
Stupid NYers move here to get away from high taxes and then they vote for higher taxes! They are almost as bad as hippies!
