A Queens teacher and her student were recently caught having sex in the classroom.
On Thursday she was behind bars, charged with rape, sexual abuse and child endangerment after the student's mom tracked her down.
Her head hung low, Melissa Weber was ushered away in cuffs, no doubt thinking about the probable end to her teaching career and whether her alleged sexual rendezvous with her 14-year-old student had been worth it.
"It's real disconcerting to find that," said parent and school employee Stacy Gold.

I believe the female teachers get in the news more often because it IS noteworthy when a woman does it, but just business as usual when a male does it.
Just like crimes by whites against blacks are so rare, that when one does happen, it makes the news. But crimes by blacks against whites are not noteworthy, and often the color of the perpetrator is not even identified.
I would hope that a wise man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a verdict of guilty.
This could be looked at as a Hate Crime since the poor kid is going to hate himself for the rest of his life...

The evidence before the court is incontrovertible! There’s no need for the jury to retire. In all my years of judging I have never heard before of someone more deserving of the full penalty of law.

Maybe not now, but remember back when you were 14. Back then I'd have screwed a rock pile if I thought there was a snake in it, and most other 14 year olds at the time were the same way. Of course we didn't have the benefit (???) of having "Easy" girls back then, so I guess that could mitigate the situation. It was so bad that I couldn't even get the class tramp to give it up.

Most school sexual abuse occurs between male teachers and female students. Considering that women make up a majority of the profession I would say that it is indicative of the overall trend where MEN commit most sexual abuses and violent crimes.
