Dennis Zaki is an Alaskan freelance journalist who operates the website Alaska Report, and a charter member of the coalition of liberal Alaskan bloggers who have worked hard to undermine Governor Palin since her VP nomination.

In late April, Zaki began running a teaser headline on his front page which stated:

Wasn’t the Trig smear the one that torpedoed Alan Colmes, as well? A story entitled “Prenatal Care” if I’m not mistaken. He backed off pretty quickly when a few thousand outraged Down’s parents got hold of him but the damage, he hoped, was done (and it was - to him).

This is about abortion, plain and simple. They cant for the life of them figure out how a woman who knew she was gonna have a down syndrome baby, didn’t get him aborted, they can’t understand it. If Trig Palin issued from anywhere but Sarah, we’d know it by now. There’s just no way it would or could have stayed secret between the end of August and now. I don’t think it would have stayed secret to the end of the campaign, let alone until now. At some point, these folks need to stop chasing ghosts and start going after her on substantive issues. Of course, if they’d found anything really and truly deal-breaking on that score, we’d know that. And probably have known it by the end of the campaign. There is one upside to the media anal exam. They vet our people better than anybody we could hire to do it ourselves.
