Was it a coincidence that Sarah was in town right on the heels of the NY Senate GOP takeover?

I dunno, sure seems like Palin's poularity in NY helped to trigger that Senate takeover. Thoughts anyone?

Correlation != causation. :)

I don’t think it had anything to do with it. That’s a bit of a stretch, IMO.

The two lib senators that defected do not even have a clue, let alone Alaska, who Sarah Palin is. Welcome to The Empire State.

Hard to tell if there’s actually a correlation, but the fact the GOP (or the facsimile thereof in NY) flipped two dems into its fold.

(To complete my previous thought) that development was certainly a welcome one.

Anything is possible but, I think there is a growing disgust with the Democrats and their out of control spending spree at a time when the rest of us have to cut back on everything. It’s so obviously irresponsible and obnoxious that even blue staters have taken notice. At least, that’s what I hope this indicates.

Throw it out there. I’m sure they’ll blame her for it. :-)

The thought has merit. If I’d been wondering why-bother-going-to-the-polls, and then Sarah arrived and gave me a charge, my vote might have been among those adding to the turnover.

You can also thank Obama. People are starting to wake up to what we elected in November.

An influential billionaire-Deomcrat named Tom Golisano had been in Albany in the days before the “coup.”

He’s been calling on the Dems for reform, and some think when he didn’t get the
reforms he wanted he convinced the 2 downstate Dems to revolt.

No, it was Tom Golisano’s money.

Let me see...would that mean that if she had stayed in AK and hadn’t hit New York, and if her popularity there (whatever it is and I don’t know) was X% lower, the New York Senate would not have flipped??

If so, that was such an improbable, fragile act by the NYS I’m surprised it happened at all.

snicker
