...Horrified owners have been finding their cats killed and mutilated for the past month in two south Miami-Dade County communities. Many of the cats were missing fur and appeared to have been cut with a sharp, straight instrument, police said. In all, investigators are looking into about two dozen deaths, with enough evidence to try to prosecute at least 15 of the cases....
OWLS
They need to find this guy because he IS going to start up on people.
Someone letting their pet Komodo dragon monitor lizard out at night?
Pythons are much neater, leaving no waste at all.
I don't think owl attacks would simulate wounds by a "sharp, straight instument" that leads investigators to think they could persue 15 prosecutions...I could be wrong of course.
Looks like another serial killer practicing up for the move to humans.
Definite possability. A stupid child-hood thing doesn’t turn into 2 dozen dead mutilated cats without a lot of work and enthusiasiam.
I should be more clear. The stupid child hood thing would be killing 1 or 2 cats, realizing how awful it was and stopping. If this is a person or persons they are clearly having much fun with this just due to the sheer amount of effort they must be expending.
Oh, I understood what you meant, though I never could stomach that sort of thing even when I was a kid. It’s the classic serial killer behavioral pattern to begin by “practicing” on pets.
Um...practicing on pets in quantities and with organized methods (location, order, method, type of mutilation, etc)
It’s a definite possablity. Some one else mentioned lizards (I do hear Fl has a lizard problem,) but I’m pretty sure the investigators would have been quick to point out, “It’s just a lizard problem” if that were the case.
