Chastity Bono, civil rights advocate, journalist, author and musician, is in the early stages of changing his gender -- transitioning from female to male, TMZ has learned.
Bono, the child of legendary entertainers Sonny and Cher, began the process earlier this year, shortly after his 40th birthday.
"Yes, it's true -- Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity," confirmed Bono's publicist, Howard Bragman

I remember vividly - it is seared into my memory - the horror when Yoko Ono was trying to steal Cher’s former partner Sonny - and being unable to comprehend the marriage, and her eventual new name: Yoko Ono Bono. Oh, the horror!
How does that expression go?

I work with a girl that looks like the picture on the left. I’m sure she is taking male hormones, because she becomes more and more manly all the time. I had to work out a way to interact with her that is very neutral.

Cher took the news harder and colder than Sonny did when Chastity “came out”.
I guess maybe all this time she didn’t like the name Chastity. She’s abandoning it now (for Chaz?).

LOL!! I am assuming she will be allowed to receive a lifetime supply of steroids and it will be ok just so she doesn’t engage in sports.
From the pictures posted here, becoming a man ain’t gonna help. Evidently she/he just wants to be more like mom!

Who knew that back in the days of the Sonny and Cher show that sweet little daughter of their’s would one day grow up to be a man? Oy!
It’s immoral to let someone in pain like this mutilate themselves and spin further into confusion.
This will solve nothing.

Notice how the writer immediately starts using “his” and “him.” This is wrong. Anyone who chops and slices, or grafts and molds, should be called “it” and “its.”
