...and try to touch your tongue to the chassis if possible, when installing.

Please check these instructions.
"Who Put the Bomp (in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)"
I'd like to thank the guy who wrote the song that made my baby fall in love with me...
Who put the bomp in the bomp-a-bomp-a-bomp
Who put the ram in the ram-a-lam-a-ding-dong
Who put the bop in the bop-she-bop-she-bop
Who put the dip in the dip-de-dip-de-dip
Who was that man, I'd like to shake his hand
He made my baby fall in love with me (yeah!)
When my baby heard bomp-bomp-a-bomp-a-bomp-bo-bomp-bomp
Every word went right into her heart
And when she heard them singing ram-a-lama-lama-lama-lama-ding-dong
She said we'd never have to part
Do it right and he'll just love this upgrade!

Well, one SHOULD hold their mouth right or it won’t take.
You could always take your shirt off and rub up against the case, if you’re in to that. Not that there’s anything wrong with that....

You don't have to open the PC to know how many RAM slots you have.
Download and install CPU-Z. Once you start it up, click the "SPD" tab (it's the second-to-last-tab at the top) and then click the drop-down arrow next to "Slot 1." This will tell you.
Good luck.

Also, remove the 512MB stick from Slot A and put the 1GB in its place. Put the 512MB in Slot B.

Make sure they are both identical...except for size...and install the 1Gb module in slot 1 and the smaller one in slot two. That’s all. As long as both are the same type, clock speed, etc.

As long as there are sufficient RAM expansion ports, you add as much as you like the motherboard will alow in whatever increments you want.

The PC will only recognize and use so much. How much that is depends on your machine.
If mixed speed RAM's are used, the PC will operate at the slowest memory speed.

The original statement is correct as I wrote it. The phrase “as long as there are sufficient RAM expansion ports” implies that you can add as much as the motherboard will support.

My HP has 2 expansion slots but will only accept a total of 1G (yeah, it’s older) total RAM. I have a 1G chip in slot A. I can put any amount of RAM in slot B now, it tells me it’s too much (and doesn’t boot).

That would depend a lot on the websites you visit.

I had an Acer like that . . . . . plus, I could ONLY use Acer RAM.
I don’t buy Acer anymore.

Yep. They lower the cost by putting in mommaboards that are restricted like that.
My HP is still running strong (6 years) but I think I’m in need of a new one.
