Manny Ramirez is scheduled to return to the field next week for the first time since his May 7 suspension for violating baseball's drug policy. Don’t know where you stand on Ramirez, but I live in the heart of Red Sox Nation (or close to it) and all I can say is, I’m glad he’s someone else’s problem now. Hell of a hitter, but a royal pain in the ass....

Manny used to be cool, when he was in the tribe.

Guess he needs to start his cycle...so that he’s ovulating by the time he hits the majors.

You can take one look at the guy and realize that. I’m not sure if you have seen him bat for the Dodgers, but he wears a helmet that looks as if it has dried up human waste on the front of it. It’s disgusting. Why the Dodger front office hasn’t told him to knock it off, I don’t know. Wearing those dreads under his baseball hat and helmet, give me a break. There are plenty of young men out there that would cut off half their family jewels to play for the Dodgers, and this guy presents himself in this manner?

I don’t recall him making an ass out of himself in the dugout or such out here. Others that follow the Dodgers closer than I do may think that’s an incorrect statement, so don’t take my comments as the gospel, but I believe he’s pretty well kept his nose clean out here.

Let’s face the fact though, he IS serving a fifty day sit-down as we speak.

Yep! Couldn’t agree more. At least he won’t have that crusty old batting helmet.

I doubt he’ll be there long. He’s reportedly going to rejoin the Dodgers by the 3rd of July.

A lot of people like to rag on Manny Martinez but they have to understand that he is one of the highest paid baseball players in the majors. Therefore, he should be treated with special consideration and we should have more tolerance for his odd behavior because he has earned the right to act that way.

If the owners of the team he plays for doesn't like the way he conducts himself, they ought to reduce his pay accordingly or have him ride the bench until his contract is up and release him to another team. Aside from that, everybody needs to shut up about Manny because like it or not, he is more special than most other ballplayers due to the salary that he commands.

I heard some commentary in the middle of the night, that he has dropped to something like sixth in his category. He was leading.

If he was abusing those cute little steroids, it’s probably best he sit this one out.

unfortunately the dumb-ass commossioner has made it so the winning team of the all-star games gets home field in the series.

i am a fan of a national league team, so i need manny to help my team. stupid rule, but the commish made it this way.

I join you in thinking that’s a numb-skull move. The home field advantage should be reversed each year.

What happens when either league dominates for five or ten years? Should all series then see that league’s team be the home team? That’s knuckle dragging stupid.

best overall record = home field. IMHO. makes the regular season actually mean something and managers wont sit their best players with a week left in the season even though people are paying to see the players play.

Oh, one guesses the guy can hit. It’s just that he seems so dirty, what with his “hair” and that filthy batting helmet that one would almost expect a swarm of flies to be buzzing him at any given time.

But, oh....we sure shouldn’t rag on baseball players. They’re exempt, you know.
