Joints and baggies sold at California's medical marijuana dispensaries will soon carry a new warning label. Next to tags like "Purple Haze" and "White Widow" will be the advisory: Contents may cause cancer when smoked.

On Friday, California added marijuana smoke to its official list of known carcinogens, joining the ranks of arsenic, asbestos and DDT. Pot brownies, lollipops and other non-inhalables are not affected by the new ruling.

In California, there’s a board that would declare almost anything a carcinogen. Hell, they’ve almost covered every substance and behavior known already.

Guess it’s time for the FDA to heavily regulate it, and for every state to slap on a $.50 tax per joint.

Greetings, and welcome, pot smokers of America. This is what it’s like for us tobacco smokers.

Not exactly...at least what you do is LEGAL. You don't face the threat of having your freedom, job, kids, property, vehicle, etc. taken away from you like we do.

Yeah next they will tax it for health programs.
Then they will tax it again because it is a cash cow like beer. Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

You don’t need to smoke it.

The “medical marijuana” places sell pot candy and similar things as well as smokeable material.

If you are taking it for medicinal purposes, eating it in some form makes more sense since it’s more efficient.

Maybe it is, and maybe it isn’t. But as is typical of (CA) liberals, they can make it so by the stroke of a pen.

They’ve repealed the laws of economics and free markets, how difficult can this be.

“Follow the money”. Who benefits from this ruling? Determine that and you will know all you need to know.

***Next on the list....hot tea?

Just plain old ordinary wood smoke is hazardous and carcinogenic. When was the last time you saw a label on a cord of wood you bought?

That’s a complete joke. I’d say eating it is probably healthier than smoking it, but the research is fairly clear.

You have to admit, it is pretty darned amusing.

They tax cigarettes to oblivion...then legalize pot...to replace the taxes that were lost on that market.

I can’t decide if it is a brilliant plot to curtail smoking pot, like they did cigarettes. Or...they finally figured out the loss of tax revenue caused by nailing the cigarette smokers to the cross had to be replaced somehow.

Too deep for my shallow little mind. It just amuses me.

I’d much rather have weed being sold at liquor stores from a tax paying organization, then a brutal gang.

Well, would that extend to all illegal substances becoming legal and being sold at liquor stores?

Where would line be? (No pun intended)

Maybe they’ll just make tobacco illegal and put you in jail for possession, and create a huge black market industry to create the therefore illegal supply of the product and crowd our prisons with tobacco sellers/growers.

Greetings, and welcome, future tobacco smokers of America. This is what it’s like for us pot smokers.
