every new ff update gets more like IE with all the stupid default settings. I’m going to hold off getting that. By the way, how does mozilla make money?

I installed the 3.5 beta several weeks ago.

It’s at least 30 to 50 percent faster.

Noticably so.

They have a fountain in front of the office, and they collect the coins people throw in it.

“Mozilla Corporation makes all that money because of the Google Search box on the top right. If you search with that box (which I do all day long) and you click on the Google ads on the results page Firefox gets ~80% of that. They also have Amazon in the search box, and other services that I’m sure kick them back some affiliate fees. Brilliant.

What an amazing business: make a kick-ass browser for $10-15M a year in expense and make $72M (and growing) in revenue. It’s such a good business that the folks at Flock.com are trying to do a similar thing by building a wrapper with value-added services (like bookmarking tools) on top of Firefox. “

GOOGLE IS A DISASTER. Just do a Google search for Fox News and see what you get... ABC NEWS! ! ! !

They are a branch of the left and I kill that link wherever I find it. You can get by without them just fine.

I’m not a fan of Microsoft, but I’ve made the switch to Bing for internet searching.

Not to burst your bubble - but I just did that, and the entire first page was Fox...

That said, I do think Google’s a branch of the Dems, but you could say that about many of the new technology moguls..

The previous versions crashed/froze regularly...hopefully 3.5 is more stable. I’ve been enjoying Opera 10 Beta.

I cringe every time I read/hear Upgrade/Update.

They can create more problems than they solve.

==

The problem with Firefox is that many times the extensions/add-ons aren’t updated to work with the newer version.

Sometimes, the author just doesn’t update. Other times, the author updates — after a while.

I am glad to hear 3.5 is faster. I think I will give it a try. I like Firefox, but IE8 seems to be quicker than Firefox, at least on my machines.

No, you google Fox News and you get Fox News. You’re delusional.

I tried Chrome.

I didn’t care for it. It didn’t have enough tweaking options.

And I didn’t like that it kept a list of all the sites visited on the main screen.
