I hope she doesnt run for president. Getting out before her term is done is a betrayal of the people who voted for her. Sorry, there is no other way to “spin” this. Dont run if your going to quit and dont quit when you get it. We wouldnt give a liberal a pass on this and we shouldnt.

Tell that to the asshole sitting in the White House.

Not to rain on your parade, but although I hate to rise to his defense, I think her leaving office completely two years before the term is done and his running for a higher office while in the Senate are two different things. If the people of Illinois wanted to they could have expressed their displeasure at his move by not voting for him as president. Unfortunately for us, they didnt.

I have to say, I’m sad about this. But I’m still very hopeful that she’ll come out stronger. To me she is still the only viable candidate for President in 2012. I’m praying for her and her family.

And just to remind you, the majority of voters in this country, including millions of Republicans, thought it was okay for the Zero to quit in the middle of his office. Why in the hell is it okay for him and not her? I wonder if you think a woman does not have the right to do the same as a black man.

What will she do next?

She'd be a big, big hit with a national talk show -- and a key rallying point to fight being czarred and fettered; i.e., being subjected to the "Fairness Doctrine" and/or forced "diverse" and local programming, a.k.a. sub-prime radio.

Zero remained a Senator until he was elected President.

Sarah quitting before her first term as Governor was completed is simply a bad move.

I DO AGREE! None of this changes how I feel about her-—she has my support on anything she decides. She has my vote in the GOP primary and Presidency 2012 if she wants that!!!

To me she is a bonafide true American!

I was not criticising President Bush then or now. I just do not understand why you RINOs are blasting her for what almost every MALE politician has done. As far as Zero not quitting his Senate seat check how many votes he participated in during the last two years before the election. But he gets a pass for not doing his ELECTED job while she gets dumped on. And McCain was just as bad.

What I hope is Sarah will become the point guard for a new party, much in the same manner that Lincoln did for the Republicans 140 years ago. And if she does drop out of politics I do not blame her one little bit.

All you people who are blasting her for dropping out, why don't you go and run for office. If you are so expert on how it should be done then our country and states desparately need you. Or would you rather sit and bitch about a woman who has had it with the sexual slurs, jokes, lies, slanders, etc., etc.? Or maybe you would enjoy your 17 year daughter being touted as wanting to shack up with the baseball team? I know, you probably did abort your Down Syndrome babies. You are pathetic.

Nonsense.

Lots of people have been CRITICIZED for holding on to an office while running for something else, or pursuing some other project.

In fact, I can’t think of ANYBODY OTHER THAN SARAH who has ever been criticized for resigning from office for any reason.

The “rules” always seem to work out so Sarah is in the wrong.

She was darn near a perfect candidate and she has been treated with hideous contempt. If she walks left she should have walked right. The problem is the number of fifth columnists our midst who are really Democrats.

Ok. So Sarah gets a pass cause the press hates her and the establishment hates her. Please.
Governors the establishment didnt like stuck it out and fought for conservative ideals, laid the groundwork for electoral success and built political movements. Think Reagan.
Sarah bailed, its weird. Sorry but your argument doesnt work for me.

I didn’t say anything about giving her a pass because the press hates her.

She was very specific about what was interfering with her duties as governor: the frivolous ethics complaints. Resigning brings those to an end. And her resignation does not harm the state of Alaska in any way, since the new governor is someone who thinks like Sarah.

I think you are bashing her, with an ulterior motive.

She is going to do what she SAID she is going to do: Campaign for non-RINOs and work against Barry Soetoro and his thugocracy.

Next?

The Oval Office, to serve as President of The United States of America.

President Palin. Let it be so!

Did anyone notice a quick clause in the middle of her speech in which she turned over the Governorship to Parnell, she stated she’d be availabe [in any way] to help Parnell push Alaska’s initiatives and agenda forward.

Could there be some sort of special appointment of Sarah at a later date? Maybe some sort of unpaid special Alaska Envoy position created just for her???

That would allow her to travel outside the state, do all of the things one needs to do to campaign for other GOPers, prep for a presidential run and still be close to the successes of future Parnell legislations.......
