In a stunning rebuke of the Obama administration, NASA's James Hansen, one of the world's foremost climate alarmists, called the American Clean Energy and Security Act, the anti-global warming bill that recently passed the House, "less than worthless."
Not only that, he referred to it as a "counterfeit climate bill" that employs a "Ponzi-like 'cap-and-trade' scheme" setting the nation on a "disaster course" as a result of the 219 members of Congress he accused of voting for it without reading it.
As you might have already deduced, Hansen's complaint is that the bill doesn't go far enough to solve what he believes is a looming cataclysm.
But, who cares? It's fun watching the alarmists eat their own, especially as it seems quite unlikely his critique published at the Huffington Post Thursday will get much media coverage (h/t Climate Depot):

Ironic that Al Gore is still pushing cap and trade, but we all know that Gore is in it for the money and will make billions from cap and trade...the hypocrite in his energy guzzling mansion.
All of us that live in states represented by lib dim senators and/or reps should contact them and tell them to oppose it on these grounds. They might take the concerns of a perceived moonbat more serious.
Seriously, the only thing that would make this loon happy is to declare him the king of the world and stop all industrial production unless it was aimed at producing sedan chairs, grapes, and fans for his personal use.
They wanted to mirror your "scientific" research.
He openly insults both the W. Bush and Obama administrations. Will somebody PLEASE fire this jackass?
I believe Mr. Hansen’s utility is over.
In making this statement, he has blasphemed against God (per Newsweek, that would be BO) and The Prophet (per numerous outlets, that would be Gore).
Mr. Hansen will either be widely ignored by the press from this point forward, or he will be systematically destroyed by the same outlets that made him consequential.
I agree completely.
So...
The lessthanworthless Hansen, who runs the lessthanworthless GISS, which provides lessthanworthless manipulated temperatures from the lessthanworthless surface measuring stations, calls the lessthanworthless bill, written by a pair of lessthanworthless Congressmen, voted on unread by a lessthanworthless Congress, lessthanworthless.
At least when Hansen said it, he exhaled CO2, which has great worth for improving crop growth, proving that the lessthanworthless Hansen can provide something of value.

“Also in 2006, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) selected James Hansen to receive their Award for Scientific Freedom and Responsibility “for his courageous and steadfast advocacy in support of scientists’ responsibilities —>to communicate their scientific opinions and findings openly and honestly<— on matters of public importance.”[64]”

Will the AAAS ask for the award to be returned?
