Because it was the 2005 election of Zero to senate that brought him to the attentions of George Soros. Zer0 had been licking the boots of, and legally representing ACORN for over a decade, a group Soros dearly loved and laundered money through.
Soros became enamored in Zer0's radical approaches and felt he had found the perfect candidate...and for all intents and purposes, he had. But God willing, it will not work and Soros will have to throw Zer0 to the wolves.
