Palin Hairdresser: NYT Was Lying About "Hair Thinning" Claim

By Tim Lindell

Chalk this up as Stupid Palin Meme of the Week:

In a July 12th hit piece published on the front page of the New York Times, reporters Jim Rutenberg and Serge Kovaleski (assisted by Kim Severson and William Yardley in Alaska) made the following claim:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friends worried that she appeared anxious and underweight. Her hair had thinned to the point where she needed emergency help from her hairdresser and close friend, Jessica Steele.

“Honestly, I think all of it just broke her heart,” Ms. Steele said in an interview at her beauty parlor in Wasilla, the Beehive.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This tidbit was seized upon and has bounced through the Internet and blogosphere -- a Google search for "Palin hair thinned" now returns nearly 400,000 hits. Lefties such as Eleanor Clift seized on it as some kind of meme that Palin can't handle stress.

Jim Rutenberg and Serge F. Kovaleski go deep on the run-up to her (Sarah Palin) decision to quit

******

Kovaleski, who majored in philosophy at William & Mary, began his career in journalism at the Miami News in the mid-1980s, after spending some time after College studying and traveling in Europe.

Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever.

"The moderator was Kim Severson, a staff writer for the Dining section of The New York Times.

I am 99 percent confident she was chosen because she is an out lesbian, but I knew she was going to be an excellent fans’ representative when she began the talk by asking “What the hell?!” in response to the ending of the sixth season."

The media won’t be happy until she’s hospitalized.

It’s not such a bad thing. Trust me. I was a Democrat. The media’s constant trashing of George W. Bush pushed me to do some things that culminated in my becoming first a Republican and then a conservative. It happens.

C’mon, piper! Do your worst!

Perhaps they did it to mock the NYT’s desperation. You have to be pretty desperate to talk about a woman’s hair, for crying out loud!

Of course that’s why they did it, but you don’t want to bother with the most ridiculous stuff. Things like this, you just let go.

Oct 29, 2006 ... “Suburban mom” leads in Alaska governor race. By William Yardley

******

There is an amazing letter circulating in the blogosphere that appears to be written by Anne Kilkenny of Wasilla, Alaska, probably William Yardley’s “Ann” Kilkenny, “a Democrat who said she attended every City Council meeting in Ms. Palin’s first year in office [as mayor]. . . .” and who is frequently quoted by the Frontiersman and Anchorage Daily News.

Wasilla author of “viral” Palin e-mail earns special recognition from Alaska Press Club

ANCHORAGE— A stay-at-home mom from Wasilla whose email information about Alaska’s governor took on an Internet life of its own during last year’s presidential campaign has won a “Special Recognition” award from the Alaska Press Club.

Kilkenny is a graduate of UC Berkeley and a former delegate to former Gov. Frank Murkowski’s Conference of Alaskans

She cited in particular a team of Associated Press reporters who came to Alaska during last year’s election campaign. She also singled out New York Times writer William Yardley

Has there ever been a politician so viciously attacked as Sarah? Day after day, in print, online, on tv, radio hit pieces directed from the WH and “zero’s” minions.

The more they bash her, the more I love her. I don't care if she's bald! You can judge a person by how great and numerous their enemies are. Ms Palin is great! Her enemies are my enemies.

I’m happy to help. It seems to me that between 0bama’s (in)actions, Palin’s charisma and the vitriol of his minions/her enemies, the country is ripe for the picking - her picking, to be specific.

It is remarkable how the world has changed.

I have no idea whether or not "Tweetie" is Sarah Palin's hairdresser, but I know that the New York Times will spin and lie in order to advance its liberal agenda, and IMO the average Twitter poster is straightforward and honest. So we have reached the point where a pseudonymous Twitter poster is actually more credible to me than the New York Times.

No wonder Walter Cronkite died.

If the Times claims she said something embarrassing about her client, when she in fact did not, this is probably ACTIONABLE. Steele is, after all, a professional and this makes Steele and her business look very bad.

Lawyers out there? Doesn't Steele have a cause of action?

It is keeping her front and center and she is up to the challenge.

Something I'd like to see on Sarah's inauguration day "Dave Letterman, I know where you live...just kidding!"
