I remember lining up for the “mandatory” vaccinations at school. Kids would be rubbing their arms after the shot.
Scary stuff. Still have my smallpox scar.
Ever get smallpox?
Me neither. I did test positive for TB. Had to get a chest X-Ray evey 5 years or so, or when I had a physical if it had been longer. They never saw anything and finally stopped doing them. Last one I had was pre-surgery, and they would have done that for anyone of my age group going under general anesthesia.
I have a smallpox scar too. And I’m darned glad it was eradicated. Vaccines have saved far more lives than they have harmed. On the other hand, I think people should be able to choose to have one or not.
I don’t take flu shots, as I am unlikely to die of the flu (and if I do, well, it’s my own fault).
