[Baron] Hill Reacts to Health Care Meeting with President Obama
(Washington, DC) - This afternoon, Congressman Baron Hill was invited to the White House to discuss the health care bill pending before the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. Hill was joined by his Blue Dog Coalition colleagues who are also members of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Following the meeting, Hill issued this statement:
We had the opportunity to meet with the President for several hours this afternoon regarding health care. And, I reiterated to him my primary concerns about the current bill being considered by the Energy and Commerce Committee any health care reform legislation must be deficit neutral, focus much more heavily on cost containment and seriously address the ills of our current system. While I believe the meeting was very productive, we still have a long way to go in reshaping this health care bill to meet these goals.

I just spoke to Rep. Baron Hill's office in Jeffersonville, Indiana. They registered my opposition.
Hill's Washington voicemail box is full continuously.
Hoosiers in the 9th Congressional District. Heads up! Call Hill's offices now!
Why is an alleged health care bill being reviewed (to the extent that the bill is being reviewed at all) by the house Energy and Commerce Committee?
Why not the Health and Human Services Committee?
Despite his classification as a “Blue Dog”, I think this guy will probably end up voting for national health care after a few bones are tossed his way.
The Blue Dogs are really a big part of the problem in DC. They talk conservative at home in their districts and pretend to be conservatives. Yet back in DC they are busy cutting deals and supporting the Democrat agenda.
Defeating the Blue Dogs is critical to retaking control of Congress and stopping BHO’s ambitious agenda altogether. The Blue Dogs represent mostly conservative districts to begin with. There are 49 congressional districts carried by John McCain in last year’s presidential election that currently have Democrat congressmen.
Most of these so called Blue Dog congressmen are really lap dogs trying to have it both ways. Of course our chances of defeating the blue dogs are much greater because most of the outspoken far left liberal congressmen represent solid Democrat districts that are often pretty much one-party like most of our inner cities.
Translation: Hussein hasn’t met all of my political demands yet. The campaign funds, nicer office, union donors...you know, all the things so important to THE PEOPLE!!
"The Blue Dogs are really a big part of the problem in DC. They talk conservative at home in their districts and pretend to be conservatives. Yet back in DC they are busy cutting deals and supporting the Democrat agenda, and line their own pockets."
There. That looks about right.
You got that right!
In the end Baron Hill, will be the weasel he is and sell out for continued power from the party.
He voted for C&T and the Stimulus bill without reading either one. I doubt he will read this one either.
EXACTLY my point. The Blue Dogs talk conservative at home but vote liberal in DC.
You need a pooper scooper to buy all their dog stuff.
The so called Blue Dogs are only concerned with the costs. The fact socialized health care will steal people’s freedoms by forcing them into government run health care does not bother them.

Several have replied in like manner, and I believe you are all correct. It is the way I do in fact view Baron Hill.
Nevertheless, I have sprung my own little campaign of urgent contacts with some key people around several counties in the Indiana 9th, and he is getting loads of calls to his offices in Jeffersonville and Bloomington.
Will it change him? Not likely. But gottz t’try.
Hoosiers reading this: Get on the phone, please.
