WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- President Obama prepared to rally Senate Democrats Sunday on a healthcare bill bogged down by abortion, a public option and a Medicare panel, officials said. Obama was to meet with Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and other Senators in a rare Sunday session ahead of possible debate Monday on key amendments. Conservative Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., has threatened to filibuster reform legislation unless it contains restrictions on abortion coverage and the Senate has yet to find common ground on a government-run public option for health insurance. Also up for discussion is the scope of an...

This week, Im addressing three questions that people have been asking me all week:
-
Committee chairman Max Baucus, D-Montana, said that while he liked the idea of a public option, he knew a bill that included the provision would be a death sentence for health care reform. But Democratic Sens. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia and Charles Schumer of New York, who sponsored the public option amendments, both indicated that they don't think the debate about the public option is over. Despite his proposal being voted down, Schumer said Tuesday, "Today the odds went up that there'll be a public option in the bill." There's been a lot of focus on the plan in...

Tonight Fox will run the series finale of King of the Hill, the saga of Hank Hill and his gang of associates living in their exurb paradise of Arlen, Texas.... The beauty of King is that while it pokes fun at Hanks myriad foibles, it understands the creepy nature of those who dedicate their lives to interfering in the lives of others, always claiming the moral high ground yet inevitably maximizing their own personal power and advantage. From snooty school guidance counselors to pompous college professors to lazy municipal clerks, Hank is constantly beset by nimrods trying to force him...

This guy just made a complete ass of himself on O'Reilly throwing out wild accusations that people opposing Obama's policies are racist. I can't even count the number of times this racist moron just threw out the race card hoping some of his crap would stick to the wall. One of the dumbest, idiotic, race hustling buffoons I've ever seen. How this clown got on TV is beyond me.

Free-market capitalism is a network of free and voluntary exchanges in which producers work, produce, and exchange their products for the products of others through prices voluntarily arrived at. State capitalism consists of one or more groups making use of the coercive apparatus of the government for themselves by expropriating the production of others by force and violence. Murray N. Rothbard, The Logic of Action (1997)

NKorea May Come Off Terror List: White House Wednesday, June 25, 2008 10:50 PM WASHINGTON -- The White House said Wednesday that it could move to take North Korea off a terrorism blacklist "quite soon" after - and if - the North delivers an accounting of its nuclear programs. Washington hoped the secretive Stalinist nation would provide its long overdue "declaration" as early as Thursday, although a senior US official has already said that an inventory of Pyongyang's atomic arsenal will come later. Asked how quickly a full accounting would trigger removal from the US list of state sponsors of...

Perhaps they just dont want to think through the details. Then again - - maybe some of them dont have the capacity to think through the details. Im referring to the apparent plethora of partisan, passionate, see-no-evil Obama minions, who become outraged should any of the rest of us ask questions about the forty-fourth President. I continually encounter the minions both as callers on talk radio, and as mailers responding to my various editorial columns. Whereas last year during the election cycle when I would dare to ask questions of the dear leader Obama, the minions first line of attack...

While getting a new clutch installed on our Ford pick-up in Petach Tiqvah, the garage accountant, wearing a kippa, noticed the B'nai No'ach bumper sticker and asked, "What is B'nai No'ach?" "You are a religious Jew and you have to ask me 'what is B'nai No'ach?'" "I know what is B'nai No'ach, but I want to know what B'nai No'ach is to you." In a few words I gave him an answer that satisfied him. Then, he asked, "Who do you think this Land of Israel belongs to, the Jews or the Arabs?" "This Land belongs neither to the Jews...

According to Richard Holbrooke, Richard Holbrooke is essentially this country's top diplomat -- Hillary Clinton is merely his "pupil. This despite the fact that Holbrooke has hit the trifecta of shady business dealings over the last few years: a member of AIG's board with more than $800,000 in compensation, a managing director at Lehman Brothers, and the recipient of a "Friends of Angelo" loan from Countrywide (that alone was enough to get Jim Johnson thrown under the Obama campaign bus). Now comes another revelation from the New York Times. Despite repeated denials, according to three sources, Holbrooke did offer former...

A West Point graduate with a degree in environmental engineering, Capt. Roger Hill was by all accounts an up-and-coming young officer. He had completed the Army's punishing Airborne and Ranger schools, earned three Army Commendation medals and, during a 12-month combat tour in Iraq, received a Bronze Star for meritorious service. His fitness reports reflected a dedicated leader whose superiors wrote ringing recommendations for promotion. The men who served under him also showed confidence in his leadership: The reenlistment rate in Dog Company, the high-action combat unit Hill led in Afghanistan, was the highest in the brigade. But now Hill,...

Here is video of Bill O'Reilly debating Dr. Mark Lamont Hill on the issue of Socialism and Social Engineering. Hill argues the standard far-left liberal / socialist line, while O'Reilly argues that the government does not have the right to force people to be charitable by taking huge amounts of their income. Hill does not believe there is anything wrong with "wealth redistribution." Listening to Dr. Hill, it is clear what we are up against. It is unnerving to realize how comfortable people like Hill are with socialist principles. Obama is trying to put that philosophy into practice. Hopefully, there...

Another hero (American soldier) needs help. A decorated Army Ranger Captain has been charged with "abusing detainees" for trying to gain information from local spies operating within his base. He shot his pistol into the ground 20 yards from a blindfolded detainee (deemed a "mock execution") and faces life in prison. This is after having his men ambushed on multiple occasions as a result of the spies. On at least one ocassion after an ambush a dead soldier's heart was removed and his fingers sold in the local marketplace.

HILL OF TARA, IrelandIt is a battle worthy of the old Irish legends, pitting history against modernity. But as a controversial highway creeps ever closer to the spiritual home of the early Celtic kings, it now appears both sides may lose. For advocates of the twin ribbons of asphalt called the M3 now under construction north of the Irish capital, there is no choice but to live pragmatically with the roar of a commuter corridor in the shadow of the sacred Hill of Tara, because getting to nearby Dublin is a nightmare without it. For opponents, the new toll highway...

ESPN.com columnist Jemele Hill was suspended yesterday after sparking outrage by comparing rooting for the Boston Celtics [team stats] to Adolf Hitler and nuclear war. Jemele has been relieved of her writing and on-air responsibilities for a period of time to reflect on the impact of her words, ESPN spokesman Paul Melvin said in an e-mailed statement yesterday. Yesterday, Hill amplified on her earlier apology for writing, Rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim. Its like hoping Gorbachev would get to the blinking red button before Reagan.

Solons Suspect Coverup In North Korea Scandal BY BENNY AVNI - Staff Reporter of the Sun January 25, 2008 UNITED NATIONS Republican lawmakers yesterday expressed suspicions that as part of the Bush administration's attempts at diplomacy with North Korea, the State Department may have tried to cover up some Senate findings about the misuse of U.N. development funds by the communist regime of Kim Jong Il. A Senate investigation, which detailed the North Korean government's manipulations of the U.N. Clock ticking for Kim's Korea 24 January 2008 Kim Jong-Il's regime could collapse within six months, bringing chaos to North Korea, observers and intelligence sources in Asia have told Jane's. A joint United States report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the US Institute for Peace has also revealed that China has "contingency plans" in the event of North Korea's implosion. The report, entitled 'Keeping an Eye on an Unruly Neighbor', said that China was prepared to "take the initiative" and had a military strategy for securing North Korea's "loose nukes" should Kim Jong-Il's rule fail.

The purpose of this post is to begin providing links, tools, and tactics which we can all use to educate the public, fellow citizens, and neighbors about Hillary Clinton. It is a work in progress- I have provided a starting point, but want others to chime in with more links, stories, and information. It is the product of conversations with a number of other members, from which several salient tactical points emerged:1- keep it as contemporary as possible- the old Whitewater and similar items are stale and dead to the public.2- keep it civil, please- within the board guidelines, or better. Give Japan Its Due Carl Delfeld, Chartwell Advisor 11.20.07, 6:20 PM ET As part of a deal with North Korea in the six-party nuclear disarmament talks, President Bush has decided to take North Korea off the U.S. list of state sponsors of terror. This decision was made over the strong protests of Japan, primarily because of North Koreas stonewalling on providing Japan with any information on a score of its citizens kidnapped by North Korea during the 1970s and 1980s. Some of the abductees were schoolchildren on their way home from school. Sure sounds like terror to me. Meanwhile, North Korea...

By Elan Journo web posted October 29, 2007 Thanks to a new diplomatic deal, the nuclear stand-off with North Korea will allegedly end bloodlessly. In exchange for 950,000 tons of fuel oil, or its equivalent in economic aid and diplomatic concessions from the West, North Korea has promised to disclose all of its nuclear programs and disable all of its nuclear facilities. This new arrangement is being celebrated as a levelheaded, practical, win-win solution to the problem of the North Korean nuclear threat. But this deal, like all previous ones, rewards the North for its aggression and will strengthen...

(CBS) BOSTON New England Patriots defensive end Marquise Hill is missing in Louisiana after a jet skiing accident. His agent, Albert Elias, told CBS and a woman were on a jet ski in Lake Pontchartrain during the day Sunday when they hit a wave and fell off. Elias said Hill can swim, but the woman could not, so he tried helping her, before the water pulled him away. "As he's drifting away from her he was giving her...

Work begins to uncover secrets of Silbury Hill By Richard Savill Last Updated: 2:26am BST 12/05/2007 Work began yesterday to save an ancient landmark in Wiltshire from collapsing. Silbury Hill, which at 130 feet high is the largest prehistoric man-made construction in Europe, continues to mystify archaeologists. English Heritage is to spend 600,000 this summer trying to preserve the mound. Specialist engineers will enter the mound through a tunnel which was dug in 1968 by a team led by the archaeologist, Prof Richard Atkinson. That tunnel was the last of three made over two centuries by archaeologists. The original purpose...

May 5, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - The White House yesterday unloaded a blast at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for playing "presidential politics" with her plan to repeal the same authorization for the Iraq war that she voted for in 2002. White House spokesman Tony Fratto set the tone early yesterday, telling reporters that Clinton's Senate measure was "reckless" and "a political stunt." "It's not reflective of conditions on the ground; it's not reflective of the contributions of our troops. You can't, for example, ask al Qaeda in Iraq, are they going to end their operations on the same date. I guess that would be nice, but that's not the way it works," Fratto said. Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino kept up the broadside during the afternoon White House press briefing. "What you saw was a little bit of presidential politics. And we might see more of it, but the president has a principled stand that he's not going to change," Perino said. Clinton spokesman Blake Zeff fired back: "Hillary Clinton wants to end the war. George Bush wants to escalate it." The former first lady yesterday introduced her measure to end Congress' approval for the war in Iraq as of Oct. 11. Clinton has been hammered by liberal voters for her 2002 vote authorizing the war.

A little bit of this, little bit of that. A tribute to our veterans with a picture that will amaze. Plus some TV tidbits. It's great, it's zany, it's offbeat, it's funny, it's true life. I speak of my new TV fascination."Desperate Housewives" Plus what's with Faith Hill at the 2006 CMA Awards? Finally, the new series, "Brothers and Sisters". There's are very distasteful liberal flaws in this series and they could cause it to fail.

WASHINGTON -- Say this much for Bill Clinton. He doesn't walk quietly. Wherever the former president goes, he can still command a large public megaphone. And, as with all things Clinton, that can be both good and bad, depending upon the view. His white-hot, finger-wagging interview on "Fox News Sunday"--filled with accusations about conservative bias and Bush administration blunders--has thrust Clinton into the midterm election campaign just as the Republicans appeared to be erasing some healthy Democratic advantages. For some Democrats, that's just what they would like to see: debate on a big stage between Clinton and his successor, President...

Once again, scientists report they have found evidence of ivory-billed woodpeckers, this time in Florida. But having observed the turbulent disputes among ornithologists and birders that followed the report last year that the bird had been found in Arkansas, these researchers are proceeding with caution. Geoffrey Hill, of Auburn University in Alabama, and Daniel Mennill of the University of Windsor, in Ontario, both biologists and ornithologists, say 14 sightings and extensive sound recordings provide evidence that ivory-billed woodpeckers may live along the Choctawhatchee River in the Florida Panhandle. The report appears online in a Canadian journal, Avian Conservation and Ecology...
