In the “Dating, Family & Friends” section of the Teen Talk web site promoted on Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s home page, a teenage girl asks, “My boyfriend and I have decided that before we have sex [I] should be on the pill or some kind of birth control, but still use a condom. I asked my mom about putting me on Birth control, and [I] even researched it but she said no...what do [I] do now?”
PP answers, “It's good that you and your boyfriend have discussed using birth control. In general, parental permission is not needed for prescription methods of birth control like the pill.”
PP then continues, in a very impersonal way, to describe different ways the girl could still have sex. Remember this the next time Planned Parenthood says that it promotes parental involvement.

The letter introducing the [Planned Parenthood 2007-2008 Annual] report, signed by Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and Elena Marks, PPFA chairwoman, professes “enormous optimism” about “the new direction of our country and new opportunities to make lasting change in the lives of women and families, here and around the globe.” “Planned Parenthood is the leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider, with 93 years under our belt,” the letter continues, adding “And in the near future, we will play a unique role in helping to shape the health agenda for the new administration.”Source.
