Tons of T.P. on Pleasant Ridge Home
WXYZ ^ | 8/01/2009 | staff reporter

(WXYZ) - We've seen some pretty outrageous pranks, but the amount of toilet paper on this Pleasant Ridge home made us all gasp!

Meredith Summer and a friend were driving along Maplefield Road when they came upon a home with toilet paper hanging from literally everything.

"It must have taken hundreds of rolls," said Summer who snapped photos for us.

Sure, we've all seen T.P.ed homes, but the photos here are incredible.

A neighbor tells Action News that this home, on the corner of Cambridge Boulevard and Maplefield Road, often falls victim to pranks like this - sometimes seeing toilet paper bombings like this one twice each year.

Summer said the home also appeared to have shaving cream on its windows. When she drove by, a Pleasant Ridge police officer was also taking in the daunting prank.

By about 6 p.m., we're told someone was outside the home, cleaning up the mess.

A “practical joker” deserves applause for his wit
according to its quality.
Bastinado is about right.
For exceptional wit one might grant keelhauling.
But staking him out on an anthill should be reserved
for the very wittiest.

As far as I could tell, seems as if this is considered a “badge of honor” in this area. From the comments at the link, I surmise a lot from this comment and the article which tells us this home has been TPed before:

” Fly10 - 8/3/2009 4:00 PM

The tradition continues...The coach actually praised his swimmers for being better at TPing than swimming until the results of the qualifying swims were known....then he knew they were better at swimming!! Thanks coach for another SICSA Championship!”

Observation:
These pranksters are well practiced and have very tired throwing arms.

TP doesn’t always unroll the way you’d like.....

Its only funny if those that threw the TP returned to clean up their mess...Being an old lady, I would not appreciate having to do the cleaning...I agree with you...

When I was MUCH younger...We had a team of 6 and we would actually hire out for TP Jobs. We would stock up on TP for several weeks ahead. One of the team worked at a local grocery store and would occasionally get us good prices on cases. We had a sort of catapult thing made from the spring rods from a old car trunk. We used large rubber bands cut from car tire innertubes to dampen the vibration and make it all virtually silent. Why the catapult you ask? To make sure the rolls would clear the roof and make it to the backyard. These pictures show a good start and some promise for future development, but the house itself looks relatively untouched.
