Toyota leave F1- Renault Next??
Renault to follow Toyota’s lead and exit F1?
November 04, 2009 Britain’s BBC reports that Renault management has called an emergency board meeting in Paris to consider its Formula 1 involvement, in light of Toyota’s decision earlier today to withdraw from grand prix racing.
According to the report, the board will consider whether to continue the current program, reduce it to becoming an engine supplier, as it did in partnership with Williams in its previous F1 involvement, or quit the sport altogether. The BBC says the emergency board meeting will be attended by Renault F1 bosses Bob Bell and Jean-Francois Caubet, but they will not be allowed to take part in the debate about the team’s future.
In addition to its works team, which recently signed Robert Kubica to replace the Ferrari-bound Fernando Alonso for 2010, the Renault squad also supplies engines to Red Bull Racing which decisively outshone the company’s own team in F1 this year. Red Bull’s Renault deal is set to expire at the end of the year, but team boss Christian Horner said yesterday that he was looking to conclude a new contract with the French manufacturer.

Looks like F1 is returning to a grid of manufacturers whose #1 passion is racing, not using F1 as a means to promote and sell mass produced automobiles.
Privateers, the true spirit of auto-racing are back in bigger numbers as well.
Its sad the economic events that triggered such a thing, but I still like what it means for F1s future.

Does Toyota leaving make room for BMW/Sauber to get back in?
To: truth_seeker
i guess there's room... but is there enough time and money to get it up and running by deadline?

Just a quick Q to all you F1 fans out there: Anyone play RACE 07? I've had it for two years but never really played it. Now I'm in a group, but they don't particularly care for the F3000s (the old feeder series to F1, like Indycar Lights is to Indycar), and barely tolerate the Formula BMW's. I'm looking for some people who want to run the F3000's on a regular basis, and only occasionally run the WTCCs, Mini-Coopers, etc.
Also, I'll soon be moving to RACE ON with the IFM's, so if you have that, let me know what you think of them compared to the F3k.
Thanks!

i know not of this Race-07 which you speak but i will look into it.
it requires a wheel and peddles etc. yes?
iirc McLaren produced steering sets at one time but i didn't have a machine with the required headroom or horsepower let alone bandwidth for what was required... i think i might look into it again
thx
