PARKER, Colo. - One cat from Parker definitely has nine lives. Benjamin was shot in the face with some sort of gun back in April.
His owners found him, and then turned him over to Dr. David Schulman at Animal Health Care Specialists in Denver. Benjamin had a shattered jaw and burns in his mouth. He needed multiple surgeries, pins and a feeding tube.
The vet paid for his care.
Now, months later, the cat is healthy again and ready for a new home.
"He's just a real trooper. He loves attention," said Kathy Hill, the worker taking care of Benjamin. She says the cat is very affectionate, and ready to be adopted out.
Anyone interested in providing a loving home for Benjamin can call Animal Health Care Specialists at 303-288-6800.
Vets have more heart than Dr. Emanual.
I like tabbies. They tend to have great dispositions.

Blessings for the vet, who has a loving heart. This story shows that he truly cares about animals & their welfare more than he cares about the money.
Thank you Dr. Schulman!
If only the persons who did this could be found and punished. I’m no PETA person but anyone who would do this to an animal is sick and is heading to other things.
Another poor kitty. Glad this guy survived unlike the kitty listening to Savage :) Terrible that people hurt innocent animals.
I agree completely. Mackerel Tabbies are fantastic cats. I had one one that I lost to illness about 20 years ago, and I still miss him terribly. He even liked strange cats that he’d meet, and want to be friends with them. He was taken aback when they’d respond with defensive hostility.
He’d wait for me on top of the garden shed at the end of my carport, and climb down as I passed coming home each day. He’d stay wrapped around my neck like a living scarf until I’d politely ask him (once) to hop down. He’d always go.
Miss you, Stripey guy.
His OWNERS? That sounds strange. Wonder why they didn't take him back after he was well?
I have 3 tabbies right now about 9 weeks old. Caught them behind a plaza living under a dumpster at 4-5 weeks old....totally full of crusted mange, worms, etc. Now they are beautiful and just about ready to be adopted....they are very sweet....
That cat was shot in the face? The vet did a great job fixing him right up again. He looks like a sweetie.
Oh, that looks just like one of our “boys”——Billy, or better known as Billy the Bully!
I had to shoot a cat that was run over by a car. Part of its body was flat. It had pulled itself off the rode and went under my friends vette 40 yards from the road. It took seven shots to kill it just to kill it. It was not a pleasant day but the cat was howling in pain. Cats don’t die easy.
He (Benjiman) is one lucky cat!:)=^..^=
