These two did just that for 69 years.
she has been in a lesbican relationship with same woman since the 50s....I kid you not
they are blue haired and knit macrame and make blankets for my kids and whatnot and are very socially conservative and quiet
they live with another ancient aunt of mine who is 85 and still cuts the grass down there in the summer with a push mower in the sun
i always knew it was different as a boy but was around 11 or so before I figgered it out
I and my 5 kids are about all they have left and we see them whenever we can but they are 6 hours away from Music City.
I love them and am ambivalent about their lifestyle but they have never been anything but warm to me and are not manhaters at all like many loud Timberland wearing types nor are they real dykey...but they are a hair masculine
very odd....most of the women in my mom's family were very pretty and tough....piney woods-red clay gals
i think the dad of these was mean, physically abusive and drunk...and one of the lesbicans has had polio since late 40s so who knows
anyhow....that's my story
I am not real open to male homosexuality but we did care for a dying AIDs man here who had no one to turn to
with men....it's just too neurotic and drama and self obsession
with women...some are so manlike or they are seeking refuge...
who knows....i can see queerness in a young boy pretty early...late toddler...they act all femme

So, they never asked for your approval or made a big deal about it. No problem. You didn’t have to say you agreed with that lifestyle, but you treated them like you would a relative.

If some of you consider it a sin, well, there are a LOT of sins and I have this feeling that there are no FReepers who are without any.
It is the Lord who considers it a grave sin, an abomination. And yes, I to consider it a sin because it IS a sin.
Just because other freepers may have sinned, does not excuse THAT sin. Unlike unrepentant sexual deviant homosexual sinners, they have probably repented their sin, and have gone forward and committed that sin no more.

Goodie for you. But they were not "married" therefore, it's not really an anniversary of anything but 70 years of unrepentant sinning.

Most homosexuals are unrepentant sinners who mock G-ds words and his followers. These two are unrepentant sinners, and are worthy of contempt. 70 years of sin is NOTHING TO BE CELEBRATING.
That headline alone was enough to freeze the blood in my veins. My first thought was ... "Please, no pictures!".

I agree with you. As long as people dont push it in the faces of their fellow citizens.

Look around you and it’s all connected to LIFE. Any ideology that lessens it, that even lowers it half a notch is extremely dangerous. One doesn’t need to be a persecuting fanatic. Fine, live and let live, but even “live and let live” is all about LIFE... and it’s really not the case to allow the embrace of oblivion to sneak in edgewise through sentimentality. 70 years doesn’t make anything better, right or noble. The Muslims have been slaughtering Christians for 1400 years! Communism in Russia lasted 70 years and they celebrated every year of it.
I say enough of this sentimentality to justify sin.
And it IS in our face... and it’s gonna be in the face of thousands of girls who are tempted... and how many of them will just throw their full human potential away on account of a thoughtless (irreligious) “ooh” and an “ahh”?
As a believer, I am always depressed by stories like this, because we’re encouraged to accept a shabby version of human love over against God’s (which includes, among other things, correction of error).

Keeping our noses the hell out of other peoples business is one thing, being happy for a couple of old deviants is another.
On another point; I don’t know these two, but deviance involves a lot of fixation and following. Rare indeed is the deviant who reserves herself to just one other person. Something that would shock most people out of their shoes is a peek into the minds, lives and practices of the sexual deviant, however, in this case, ‘homey-and-sweet-and-both-are-girls an article might try to make it.
