It must be part of Obama's "stimulus" plan....

Must admit, even tho’ I was a young adult when the show came out, I loved it.

His personal life notwithstanding, Paul Reubens is an immensely talented actor and he's been around for a while.
Trivia tidbit: Paul Reubens made a pre-Pee Wee cameo as one of the waiters in the restaurant where John Belushi and Dan Akroyd tossed shrimp at each other in 'The Blues Brothers'.

I remember seeing this. Pee Wee was imaginative, for sure...
To: Maverick68
I did too. My oldest son was born in 1986. So that gave me the excuse to watch it.
And I did.
So now.... They want to revise the Pee Wee Herman shows? Great idea. And in the interests of cultural diversity.... I suggest they select our very own POTUS as the “new” Pee Wee.
The visual similarities are amazing. Put Obama in a gray suit and bow tie..... How would anyone know the difference?
To: Willie Green
His show was funny when I was a kid.

I last saw Paul Reubens on an episode of “Hung,” playing the hen-pecked husband of the main protagonist’s client. For a moment, I thought that HE would be the client and almost turned it off.

Reubens did the voice of the spaceship in Flight of the Navigator (1986). It was a cute movie.

I used to watch this show with my daughter when she was little...it cracked me me up. Who was the famous actor who got his start on it? Memory fails me...

so a guy who was a registered sex offender and was arrested for possession of child porn is going to be doing a kids show?
To: truthkeeper; All
It came to me. Laurence Fishbourne was Captain Curtis, and Phil Hartman was one of the writers.

I believe Phil Hartman was a character on Pee Wees Playhouse too.

Watched it with my kids, we all thought it was hilarious. Not sure if I would enjoy it now, just because of the yuck factor. Too bad, the guy is very talented.
