Here is video from CBS on the career of Don Hewitt, the creator of 60 Minutes, and recognized at the "Father of Modern Television News." Hewitt died today at the age of 86.
Hewitt's career in TV News spanned over 60 years, and went all the way back to the days of Edward R. Murrow at CBS. He created 60 Minutes in 1968 and was its Executive Producer. . . (Watch Video)

I will shed no tears for Mr. Hewitt. He was not an advocate for the truth, he was a LIBERAL first, last and always.
One less liberal ... let me put it this way, the passing of Tony Snow brought tears to my eyes - even though the LEFT refused to even acknowledge him in their endo fo year LIBERAL good bye to those that died at the end of the year.
Whoa Don, you forgot to take the rest of your Commie crew with ya!
I will never forgive this thoroughly discredited, biased bastard for two things:
- taking the blame at Liberal NY cocktail parties for getting Ronald Reagan elected (”Gee, I guess all of those stories about welfare queens coming to pick up their checks in a Cadillac had an effect...”)
- taking the credit for saving Bill Clinton’s pudgy pink arse and making him President with that piece right after the Super Bowl about the Paula Jones deal (the one where Hillary squawks away in that fake southern accent that she doesn’t really have) which foisted eight years of Clintonism on us.
This template is still very much in effect at CBS.
(Hey, you guys got all the evangelicals stirred up and electing for Bush with all this G*d talk on shows like Joan of Arcadia. If you have to run with spirituality, about a show about a cute young chick who talks to ghosts?)
Mr. Hewitt was the walking, talking embodiment of everything that is wrong with the Liberal Media Establishment. And with CBS.
