General/Town Hall Attendee

(My 1st post) I just returned from our local town hall meeting on healthcare in San Carlos, CA with Rep Speier. She regurgitated the Pelosi talking points and then went on with more propaganda type answers. I was surprised that with HR 3200 likely to fail, she was still strongly advocating it. The hypocracy was incredible. Of course she spent the last 18 years bankrupting California as a state legislator and now she wants to tell us how government run HC will solve all our problems. Also notable was the number of Organizing for America representatives (easy to spot since they have name badges on, probably so she knows that she can call on friendlies). Roughly 1/3 to 1/2 were from OFA. Sad to see them refer to people with counter viewpoints as Nazis, yes, believe it or not we were called that by a woman using a microphone to ask a softball question. Happily, I had company in that what I could estimate about 1/3 were against. I had prepared a list of compelling questions, which I copied and thought I would share with others, but only handed to a few since I was quite intimidated with the OFA Astroturfers present. My question related to the home visitations provision of HR 3200, to which Speier replied that her interpretation of that section was different than mine. But in her answer she still said that the home visitations by government employees will only apply to poor people. Nice. Very nice. The government wants to start out telling poor people how to raise their families. Think they will stop there? Not likely.
