Where would you move to if it became necessary? (Vanity)

Here is my question: If you felt it was necessary to leave our America to avoid the politics, where would you go? I had an interesting conservation with a friend today and he made the statement that he was considering researching for a new home. Since I have never given thought to the subject, I was completely stumped. I have no idea where I would go.

If the free world's most free nation is no longer free, then what will it matter?

I would stay to fight to overthrow the regime that took our freedom away.

I am getting the feeling Alaska may be the answer for many.

Mars, Free Planet Project FTW! Haha. If we ever make it to Mars we had better keep the United Nations out of it..

It’s a tough question and there are numerous necessary precautions when doing so. Their style of government, taxes, regulations, etc.

If I were to go into research mode though here’s what I personally would look into (in order):
1) Germany / Switzerland / Austria
2) Japan
3) Scottland or Ireland
4) Northern Italy (specifically)
5) Greece
6) Brazil or Argentina, maybe Peru.
7) New Zealand
8) Sweden / Nordic region

Other than these I can’t really think of any that don’t have an immediate problem that would prevent my relocation.

Rush mentioned New Zealand in a half-joking manner to Glenn Beck the other night as getaway spot.

The way I see it the states should draw a line in the sand and fight this.

Everybody who wants to and can ought to flood those states.

I’ll be here in Texas to welcome some of them.

Leave and abandon our great nation to those who would destroy it? Never. There are too many options here to go anywhere else. Remember: there are FIFTY states - each on par with most sovereign nations - surely you can find a few acres in ONE to suit your needs and defend our culture.

Given the premise of the question, though, I’ll bite:
Vancouver area, BC, Canada. My wife is Canadian, that’s where she’d want to go, and just across the border from Seattle works for me. Canadian urban centers give it the socialist bent the country has, but word is just outside that it’s very much what the US is/should-be.

South Dakota is my home, and where we live, Texas is Mrs. SoDak’s former home, and we’ll make our stand in one or the other.

Switzerland

I have a very good friend who is Swiss. She has been in this country about thirty years, but goes back to Switzerland a couple of times a year to visit. She says that as much as she enjoys her visits to Switzerland, she can't wait to come back to this country because of the oppressive government regulation there.

There is no other place to go. The only solution is to stay and fight.

I am not about to give up my country to a bunch of lunatics. NOW is the time to fight harder than we ever have!
