Sorry have not been around in awhile. Headed to Macon tomorrow for the weekend. This is appropriate given the Allman Brothers note in the first. BTW, Elizabeth Reed is buried just down the hll from the Allmans in Rose Hill Cemetary. Seen it many times. The inscription is the title of the song. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed>

The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post

Street Sweeper Social Club - Promenade Advance warning if far left artists bother you don't bother because this is Boots Riley and Tom Morello's new project. But Tom does throw his considerable bag of tricks at this one. There are some good videos in the related section, a Paper Planes cover and Trent Reznor helps out on Kick out the Jams.

Back closer to the first song, in lots of ways, The Derek Trucks Band - Blind, Crippled and Crazy

Finally I have to post two Steve Earle songs, my all time fave by him, I Feel Alright and his Townes tribute, Fort Worth Blues

Find this album; you will like this song:

Webb Wilder: About Time

Dark sunglasses, sharkskin suit
Standin’ in the broken glass
Of east dubuque
On a sunday mornin’
On a sunday mornin’

You ramble and you tamble
It’s a rotgut town
Lose your mind
Till it can’t be found
Now your head is burnin’
Your heart is yearnin’

Jimmy reed is the king of rock and roll
Jimmy reed is the king of rock and roll

Down to ottumwa, up in that room
Light bulb flickin’ it’s tongue at you
And the hours passing, the hours passing

Jimmy reed is the king of rock and roll
Jimmy reed is the king of rock and roll

Dark sunglasses, sharkskin suit
Standin’ in the broken glass
Of east dubuque
On a sunday mornin’
A sunday mornin’

Jimmy reed is the king of rock and roll
Jimmy reed is the king of rock and roll

Jack Pearson and the Nationals laying siege to a dive bar outside Nashville:

Jack took over Dickie Bett’s spot in the Allmans for a few months after they gave Dickie the boot. It’s feels heretical to say it, but Jack is better than Dickie and at least as good as Derek Trucks on slide.

Yeah, isn’t he? The Nationals played that bar every week and we used to pinch ourselves that we were seeing such incredible music for like a $5 cover.

Here he is playing some great non-slide stuff:

I love her voice. And I love how One Eskimo samples her and wrote a whole new song (seemingly) based on Candi's version.

Patsy Cline sang the original "He called Me Baby" but I can't find it on utube.
