MARTIN COUNTY, FL -- A 23-year-old Stuart woman stabbed and killed her dog Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit.
According to our news-partners at Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, Cassandra Danielle Lauderdale who lives in the 1700 block of Southeast Salerno Road was charged with cruelty to animals and was being held at the Martin County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail Monday.
The Martin County Sheriffs Office was called about the incident about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Lauderdales home. Deputies found several people inside, including Lauderdale, who appeared agitated. The people at the home told deputies she had taken the dog into the bathroom and stabbed it in the bathtub, the arrest affidavit said. They told the deputies they heard the dogs yelps during the attack.
She uttered that she had the right to kill the dog and it was no ones business, Deputy Vance Irick wrote in his report.
Lauderdale took Irick to the back yard, where he said he found the dog dead from several deep stab wounds to the neck. Deputies found blood in the bathroom, with bloody clothes and towels strewn across the place and a bloody knife in the sink.
The report did not indicate what may have led to the attack on the dog.
Wow....where have I heard that before? SIck sick sick.

Stuart woman stabs dog to death in bathtub
So exactly what is the prescribed method for putting a dog down? When I was growing up, you could take the dog out to he woods and shoot it. Do you have to take it to a vet now? Is that the only option?
animal cruelty ping!
I dunno. That used to be standard procedure. But now you can't do that with cats and dogs. Baby humans, maybe -- but not cats and dogs.
I guess it’s the difference between having a conscience and not having a conscience to prevent unnecessary pain.
A VERY short walk to, She uttered that she had the right to kill her fetus and it was no ones business,
I think this is true in many places, yes.
Once again in your bitterness and jealousy, you compare apples to oranges.
I don’t see the “compare” I read it more along the lines of drawing parallels.
Was she practicing for future work on her ex or ex-to-be?
disgusting.
i don’t know why you can’t be pro-life, and anti-cruelty to animals.
Both are fruits, grow on trees...there ARE many similarities!
Good point...
In Louisiana there’s a deer hunting dog breed so pure that when a litter is born and set on the trail of their first deer chase ever, the last two pups in the pack running after the deer are shot and the first two coming back after the deer is killed are shot.
And it is no one’s business how your pets are put down unless where you live has a specific law governing it.
SIck. Just sick.
A typical litter is four pups, occasionally five. There is a huge amount of government grant money being made available to researchers to determine the reason for their rarity.
It's also time to update that state and bring it out bararianism and into the 20th century.
