Once is dumb. Twice is stupid.

Or is it once is stupid, twice is dumb. I always forget which way it goes. On one hand, to be dumb might mean the “deaf and dumb” type thing, with the dumb (and the deaf) being something that is uncurable - so that it would be the later version: “Once is stupid, twice is dumb”.

On the other hand, if I do a “dumb” thing - that typicaly refers to when I do something wrong, but it doesn’t matter too much. Like when I get ahead of myself and put the jelly on the bread first and then, with a glob of peanut butter on my knife say to myself - “that was dumb”. So the stupid would be more serious - so making the same mistake would be “Once is dumb, twice is stupid”.

Regardless, this is dumb. AND stupid.

OK, I guess it's time to speak frankly. This is Free Republic, a conservative political forum. This is the mission statement:

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.

That's what we do here. Although there are people here of nearly every technical and technological bent the common thread is conservative politics, which falls into a broad continuum from libertarian to downright monarchical.

I guarantee you that 90% of the people who post here neither know nor care what a "furry" is and would find the matter somewhat disturbing. You are deeply involved in fantasy worlds on several different levels and I cannot imagine what you hope to accomplish by posting them in a forum so fiercely dedicated to the real world.

One thing this is not, is an open forum wherein anyone can sign up, post whatever they wish and insist that others share their obsession. You do not own the thread. You do not own the forum. You are Jim Robinson's guest here and you will make demands on no one. We all play by those rules. That's just how it is here.

Perhaps it might be preferable for you to lurk awhile and get a better idea of what this place is all about. I do not say that in hostility but in compassion - the first time you drop “babyfur” in the open forum expecting that people will know what you’re talking about the conversation is likely to devolve to harp seal pups and the sundry advantages of whacking them on the head with a club. There is a very vigorous culture here and it isn’t always very friendly, even to long-timers. Just a modest suggestion from a scarred veteran. Welcome to FR.

“As we say,we’re the future,ur history.”

I saw that plot, let me guess....Blade Runner?

In all seriousness Axel, be very careful not to blur this fantasy thing you have working with reality. It has the potential to disconnect people from the here and now. Not something you should allow your mind to get too absorbed in.

You can shrug that off, but please at least consider it.
