I did a bunch of Internet work on Thursday evening and Friday last week, then went out of town.
When I returned on Sunday I could smell a man's cologne in my kitchen and could tell someone had been in my home while I was gone.
Nothing was stolen or missing, but I checked with my neighbor who is a retired cop from NY City to see if he noticed any activity at my house.
As a matter of fact, his dogs were barking Sunday night and he looked in my driveway to see if my son's truck was there. It wasn't, but he saw my kitchen light go on and off twice. (This confirmed that someone was there.)
I posted on Twitter, FR and facebook in addition to conservative outpost and Smart Girl Politics about the lack of media coverage for the Obama court case and the lack of a free press in America on Friday!
I think I made someone mad and I want to know if any other freepers have had strange experiences lately?
I have a very inexpensive way to know if anyone was or is in your house.. Put a 20 dollar bill in plain sight on kitchen counter or some other table...If anyone goes into your house for any reason, they would surely pick up the bill... When you come home, if the bill is missing leave the house and call police to check it out....

They have been trying to scare me, been back in my house several times this week and I had the deadbolts changed and they still came back in.

A very similar thing happened to me when I put my house up for sale.
I had an inkling that someone had been in my house; I DO have a very large dog, though.
One thing I found was a little plastic dog food dish, of a kind I never use, and my dog slept for ~ 18 hours. I think he was drugged. There were other physical indications, including tire tracks in the front yard which I photographed.
I reported it to the county sheriff, and he recommended I take the “for sale” sign down, which I did. I have dead bolts, which I have been using, and little other indicators to check if the door/windows have been opened. I put up a camera for a week, used it when I was out of the house.
Nothing was taken, but things were moved. Funny, but it was only after I thought about it for a couple of days that I realized what really had happened: someone had been in my house.
My weapons are loaded and 2 feet from my bed. Now, when the dogs alert at night, I get up, pick up a weapon, and look around.
Nothing has happened since, but one of my worst actions during the episode was trying to talk myself out of being concerned. You know, “Well, that was probably moved last week when my daughter was here,” etc., when my gut was telling me I was being stalked.

Exactly a professional would not do this. If someone really gave two flips about her net usage they would not need to go into her home to spy.
I would more think it was a friend of a son’s or a neighbor sneaking a look at porn or something.
Did azkathy check the history on the computer when she got home?
History has been checked.
Computer was checked for bugs/viruses.
It had over 200 in spite of programs to stop that.
A fellow freeper described a similar circumstance that was done by the FBI. I am trying to find out if this was someone along those lines and it would explain why they didn’t hurt me.

You are correct.
If it was the FBI you would have known it by now.
