BOSTON (AP) - Rush Limbaugh's bid to buy the St. Louis Rams ran into opposition within the NFL on Tuesday. Colts owner Jim Irsay vowed to vote against him, and commissioner Roger Goodell said the conservative commentator's "divisive" comments would not be tolerated from any NFL insider.
"I, myself, couldn't even consider voting for him," Irsay said at an owners meetings. "When there are comments that have been made that are inappropriate, incendiary and insensitive ... our words do damage, and it's something that we don't need."

I smell a “restraint of trade” suit and antitrust violations galore.
Is it true that Irsay left Baltimore because it was becoming too black?
Hey Irsay, I am from Indiana and I will never support the Colts again.
Mind your own damn business. I ain’t that fond of you but I like you better when you minded your own business.
Waddya bet this guy’s never, ever listened to Rush?
Colonel, USAFR
“Good point about Olbermann but he isnt an owner.”
Olbermann my not be an owner, but he provides commentary for NFL football on NBC.
Isn’t this rich!
The plantation owners think Rush is “insensitive”.
Do these people hear themselves?
Nuff said!
Irsay must be in it deep with the Simons here. Both lefties who bilk this state for personal gain.
He became the 347 richest guy in the Forbes list all due to the “charity” of Indiana taxpayers.
Now we (Indianapolis) can’t even afford to run the $700 million dollar stadium and are laying off 50k per year minions in an attempt to stay solvent.
The family is scum.
I remember how Irsay moved the team from Baltimore to Indianapolis in the dark of night while no one was watching. Baltimore was against the move, so he snuck out of town when he thought no one was looking.
Dare I say it?
More Jewish Baraqqis...........
Good post. I agree.
Based on those contributions to Dems, he might be angling for an ambassadorship like Rooney from the Steelers.
Where is the source of his so called racial comments? There is none!
The thought police strike again!
How in the hell can an Irsay dare to criticize anyone’s treatment of others after what his bastard dad did to the City of Baltimore?
The Commisioner makes the point that I think has the most merit — they don’t let NFL owners say whatever they want to say, especially not about football, but also about a host of other things.
If Rush becomes an owner, he will either have to hold his tongue about the NFL on his show, and also censor himself constantly on other matters, or else be prepared to spend lots of money in fines.
My worry is that being a team owner is something you’d expect to happen after retirement. Would Rush retire if he bought a team?
Specifically, which one's Mr. Irsay? Are you aware of the impact of a "defamamtion of character" tort?
Is Jim Irsay really stupid enough to make a public remark like that without verifying the accuracy of the source, or is he deliberately joining the attack on Rush?
Jim Irsay, scion of the family that moved his family’s NFL team from Baltimore to Indy in the middle of the night. Yeah, he’s a real stand-up guy. Someone ought to check Irsay’s name against contribution lists for Obama and Evan Bayh.
