Zero sympathy for those that refuse to help themselves and or demand others do for them !
Michigan is in for a massive era of hurt unlike they have ever seen. No pun intended but Detroit is a black hole that is sucking the states resources and good communities dry !
If the goobermint wants to do anything for that town it would scrape off the urban wasteland of abandoned structures and old factories and grow crops ! Turn the abandoned parts of that ville into a DOD USAF civil engineer’s, Navy Seabee’s and Army corp of engineer’s training ground with FEMA as to how to recover a city after it’s been nuked !
Nuked in this case being .....conventional destruction by society.

Here is the REAL TRAGEDY....The Republicans or any conservatives can NOT get the message across to them about the Progressive Plantation!
Pitiful, just piticul that we can not get this message across...NO excuses, conservatives just can’t get the message across.
Don’t most community colleges have open admissions? Couldn’t these people go back to school for some kind of training (we’ll forget about a degree for right now)? X-ray tech, dental hygienist, diesel mechanic, practical nurse? All these are jobs that can’t be outsourced, that pay decently and would let the person live almost anywhere in the country - they could leave Detroit if that’s what they really want. And, there are grants for the really poor. They don’t even have to get student loans.
It would seem that after putting in application after application, after realizing that they have no skills and need to bring something to the marketplace, that these people would try.something.different.
But that takes thought...
Last I checked, the Army is hiring.
There are people sneaking across the border to do the work these inner city leeches refuse to do!
Hard to do but .......if they have no desire to improve their lot in life.

You know what? I was a poor white trash punk from North Philly...and I worked at EVERY lousy job I could find, put myself through trade schools, got better jobs, went to night college.
If a bonehead like me can do it, anyone can.

Pretty harsh? Maybe - But I don’t give a rat’s tuckus. I’m not one to pull punches. They should quit whining, Cowboy the hell up, and make something better of their lives. As a matter of fact, them being “oppressed minorities” and all - they have MORE opportunity from Uncle Sugar than I could ever DREAM of getting (and didn’t - I did it on my own)- and still don’t get it.
This IS America after all...and it STILL is the land of opportunity - IF you want it.
